This download is a factory documentation library for Volvo D11, D13 and D16 diesel engines used in heavy-duty trucks, buses and industrial equipment. The D11 (10.8 L), D13 (12.8 L) and D16 (16.1 L) are six-cylinder Volvo diesel engines designed for long-haul and vocational trucks, offering power ranges roughly from 325 hp up to 600+ hp depending on calibration and emission standard. They are used in Volvo FH/FM series and North American VN/VHD platforms with advanced features like high-pressure fuel injection, exhaust aftertreatment and engine braking systems.

These manuals cover Volvo D11, D13 and D16 engines across multiple generations and emissions levels. Coverage includes highway tractors, rigid chassis, buses and industrial variants. Exact applicability always depends on engine family, emission label, control unit generation and installed options. Use the emission label and engine serial number on the vehicle to confirm that each document applies to your specific engine.

Basic usage

• Extract the archive to a local drive, keeping the folder structure so that engine and system groups remain organized.
• Open the required PDF with any modern PDF viewer and use the built-in bookmarks or search to locate procedures, torque specs or wiring information.
• Start with design and function or system description PDFs when planning a repair, then use the related task-specific procedure sheets for removal, installation and checks.
• Use the generic trouble code and fault tracing manuals together with your diagnostic tool to interpret MID/PID/SID/FMI codes and plan diagnostics.
• For D13F and later engines, always cross-check with wiring diagrams and J1939 data link documents before replacing electrical components.

Operating systems

• Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, Windows 11 (32-bit and 64-bit) – tested with Adobe Acrobat Reader and other common PDF viewers.
• The PDFs can also be opened on other operating systems (for example macOS or Linux) with a compatible PDF reader, but primary support in this package assumes Windows PCs.

Minimum system requirements

• CPU: Dual-core 2.0 GHz or better.
• RAM: 4 GB minimum (8 GB recommended for smooth multitasking with other diagnostic software).
• Storage: About 600 MB free for the extracted manual set plus additional space for backups and notes.
• Display: 1366×768 or higher resolution recommended for comfortable viewing of diagrams and multi-page procedures.
• Software: Any modern PDF viewer (Adobe Acrobat Reader DC or equivalent).
