This package contains BMW EasyKFP 2.0, a small helper utility for EDIABAS based BMW diagnostic environments. EasyKFP is used to switch EDIABAS interface modes and configure IP communication to OPS or ICOM heads so that tools such as INPA, WinKFP and ISTA/P can connect reliably over Ethernet instead of only via K-line or K+DCAN.

Highlights
  • Graphical front end for switching EDIABAS interface modes between STD:OBD, REMOTE and OPS or ICOM profiles
  • IP and port configuration tool that stores the correct address for the diagnostic head in the remote.ini file
  • Live indication of OPS or ICOM firmware version and battery or ignition status when communication is active
  • Reduces manual editing of configuration files in the EDIABAS folder by centralising settings inside the EasyKFP interface
  • Supports multiple interface languages in this package, including the original German executable and a Russian translated launcher
  • Useful companion for WinKFP, INPA, NCS Expert and other BMW Standard Tools when working with Ethernet based heads

Compatibility notes
EasyKFP 2.0 is designed for BMW EDIABAS environments and is typically used together with INPA, WinKFP, NCS Expert, Tool32 and similar BMW Standard Tools. It is intended for use with OPS and ICOM diagnostic heads or other Ethernet based interfaces that require the REMOTE mode in EDIABAS. Language support in this distribution includes German and Russian, with English language available only in the BMW diagnostic applications themselves. Function availability can depend on the installed EDIABAS version and the firmware of the connected head, so some indicators or options may behave differently on newer stacks.

Basic usage
  • Install the EasyKFP 2.0 application from the EasyKFP 2.0.7z archive into a dedicated folder, for example C:\Programme\EasyKfp
  • If you prefer a Russian interface, extract EASYKFP_RU.7z into the same folder and launch the Russian executable
  • Place the supplied Remote.ini file into the C:\EDIABAS\BIN directory so the application can manage IP and port settings for the head
  • Start EasyKFP, choose the required interface mode such as REMOTE and enter the IP address of your OPS or ICOM head
  • After the connection status and indicators are correct, open INPA, WinKFP or other BMW tools and perform diagnostics or programming as usual

Operating systems
EasyKFP 2.0 was originally developed for legacy Windows systems but can also be used on newer platforms with the supplied compatibility files.
  • Windows XP with Service Pack 3
  • Windows 7 32 bit and 64 bit
  • Windows 8 32 bit and 64 bit
On later Windows versions it is recommended to run the program with administrator rights and appropriate compatibility settings.

Minimum system requirements
  • CPU: Intel or AMD compatible processor 1.0 GHz or faster
  • RAM: at least 512 MB, 1 GB or more recommended when running multiple BMW tools
  • Storage: 50 MB free disk space for EasyKFP files and configuration data
  • Display: 1024 x 768 screen resolution or higher
  • Software: installed BMW EDIABAS environment with working INPA or WinKFP, plus required runtime components from the Win7_8_x86_x64 archive where applicable
  • User rights: local administrator rights recommended for installation and configuration
