- Read the ECU flash or EEPROM with a suitable programmer and save the file in binary format on your PC
- Start BMW Immo ID Editor 2.42 and open the dump using the Open File button
- Check that VIN, ECU type, program number and immobiliser ID fields are decoded correctly for the selected ECU type
- Where permitted, edit VIN or clear immobiliser ID using the dedicated buttons, then run the checksum function before saving
- Save the modified file and program it back to the ECU with your external tool, then complete synchronisation procedures using standard BMW diagnostic software
