E2PA (E2P Analyser) is a specialized Windows utility for Bosch MED9.x Engine Control Units. It provides advanced firmware editing functions essential for ECU replacement, engine swaps, and professional tuning — including Immo OFF, EEPROM checksum correction, flash counter adjustment, inventory data editing, and OBD read protection toggling.

shows core functions (Immo OFF, EEPROM checksum correction) and supported families such as Bosch MED9.x.

What Problem Does This Tool Solve?

When adapting a donor Bosch MED9.x ECU (2k/4k EEPROM) to a new vehicle, several critical data areas must be modified for correct operation. This includes disabling the immobilizer (Immo OFF), correcting checksums after edits, and aligning internal metadata such as the flash counter and inventory information.
E2PA brings these operations together into a single, focused interface that works directly on EEPROM/Flash dumps, making donor ECU adaptation faster, safer, and more reliable.

Key Features

  • Immo OFF — permanently disables the immobilizer logic within the firmware.
  • EEPROM checksum correction — automatically fixes checksums after file edits so the ECU can boot and run correctly.
  • Flash counter adjustment — reads and modifies the internal flash write counter.
  • Inventory data editing — edits additional inventory-related fields stored in the EEPROM/Flash.
  • OBD read protection — enables or disables ECU readout via the OBD port (where supported).

Supported ECUs & Blocks

  • Primary ECU support: Bosch MED9.x with 2k/4k EEPROM.
  • Supported blocks: IMMO1, IMMO2, IMMO3, IMMO4, HW1, FDCUST, and others.

How to Use

  1. Read EEPROM/Flash — use a compatible bench programmer to read a full dump from your Bosch ECU.
  2. Load file in E2PA — open the software and load your original dump. The log will show: "Started E2P Analyser".
  3. Select function — choose the required action (Immo OFF, Checksum, Flash Counter, OBD Read Protection).
  4. Save new file — export the modified dump and keep an untouched backup of the original.
  5. Write back to ECU — program the modified file to the ECU using your hardware tool, then verify by reading back and checking checksums.
Tips: always archive the original dump, verify checksums after writing, and clear DTCs on first start.

System Requirements & Testing

  • Operating system: Windows (tested on Windows 10 LTSC 2019).
  • Required hardware: an EEPROM/Flash programmer capable of reading/writing Bosch MED9.x ECUs.
