Land Rover Pathfinder diagnostic image overview

This package contains a full backup image of a workshop PC configured with Jaguar Land Rover Pathfinder diagnostic software for 2024.
Pathfinder is used for dealer level diagnostics, control unit programming and guided fault finding on newer Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles that communicate via DoIP and modern CAN architectures.



Main functions

• Read and clear diagnostic trouble codes from all available control units on supported Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles
• View live data parameters and run built in test routines and actuations during troubleshooting
• Program and update ECUs with approved software when used together with genuine online access and a compatible JLR DoIP VCI interface

Compatibility notes
The backup image is stored in the .tibx format used by Acronis backup software. It must be opened or restored with Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office, Acronis True Image or another backup solution that fully supports .tibx image files.
The image is intended to be restored to a compatible 64 bit Windows PC or virtual machine with similar hardware characteristics to the original system.
It is designed for use with Jaguar Land Rover vehicles that require Pathfinder and a JLR DoIP VCI, typically later model years where SDD is no longer the primary tool. Actual vehicle coverage and available functions can vary by model year, hardware level and valid online subscriptions.
Use only with legitimate JLR access credentials and approved interfaces. This image does not replace any required manufacturer accounts or licenses.

Basic usage

• Install Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office, Acronis True Image or another backup application that supports .tibx images on a suitable Windows PC
• Add backup pathfinder.tibx to the backup application and either mount the image to browse files or start a full disk restore to a blank target drive or virtual disk
• When using a full restore, prepare a target PC or virtual machine that meets or exceeds the hardware requirements listed below and back up any important data before overwriting
• After the first boot of the restored system, verify network settings, date and time and install drivers for your JLR DoIP VCI interface if required
• Connect the DoIP VCI, start the Pathfinder application from the restored desktop and sign in with valid JLR credentials where required, then follow official service information during diagnostics and programming

Operating systems
The image is designed for a 64 bit Microsoft Windows environment commonly used in dealer and specialist workshops.

• Windows 10 Pro 64 bit as the typical base system inside the backup
• Operation on Windows 11 64 bit hardware platforms may be possible when the restored image is used in a virtual machine with suitable drivers

Minimum system requirements

• CPU: Intel or AMD 64 bit quad core processor 2.0 GHz or faster
• RAM: 8 GB minimum, 16 GB recommended for stable operation with Pathfinder and background services
• Storage: At least 120 GB free disk space for the restored system image plus logs and temporary files
• Display: 1366 x 768 resolution or higher
• Network and interfaces: Stable internet connection for online functions and a compatible JLR DoIP VCI connected via USB or LAN
• Other: System firmware with virtualisation support if the image is used inside a virtual machine and local administrator rights for maintenance
