MercedesGearTool v2.3 — from v2.11

  • Expanded support across Mercedes EGS/TCU families (5G / 7G / 9G where supported).
  • Quicker unit identification with improved variant/VIN parsing and coding summary.
  • Refined service functions: adaptions reset, initialization and learn-in workflows.
  • Database refresh for definitions, DTC texts and parameter maps.
  • Safer write path with enhanced pre-checks and voltage watchdog.
  • Faster backup/verify routines and checksum validation.
  • UI polish, clearer status prompts, and detailed operation logs.
  • General stability fixes and performance improvements.

How to update
  1. Back up your existing project/data folder and any saved ECU/TCU backups.
  2. Install v2.3 over v2.11 (clean install recommended if you customized paths).
  3. Reconnect your VCI and run a communication test before working on a vehicle.
  4. After updating, perform adaptation/learn-in only when OEM procedures recommend it.

Compatibility
  • Interfaces: CAN/DoIP-capable VCI (e.g., SDconnect-type or compatible J2534) per vehicle platform.
  • OS: Windows 7 / 8.1 / 10 / 11 (64-bit). Tested on Windows 10 LTSC (2019).
  • Hardware: 4-core CPU, 8 GB RAM+ (16 GB recommended), 1 GB free disk for app/data.

Good practice
  • Use a regulated power supply during any write, coding or initialization.
  • Follow workshop procedures and verify coverage before starting.
  • Online/SCN or account-bound functions must be performed with official access.
