Navistar service information USB overview

The Navistar OnCommand Service Information USB (OCSI USB) R8 snapshot is an offline reference library for International and Navistar vehicles.
It provides local access to truck, bus and engine service manuals, wiring diagrams, tool instructions and related documents without needing a constant internet connection.



Main functions

• View International and Navistar truck, bus and engine service manuals, diagnostic guides and tool instructions in PDF format
• Search the library by document type, major group, model series, vendor, engine platform and feature code using the desktop viewer
• Filter and sort search results, then open the selected service document directly from the results list
• Run the viewer directly from the USB drive or from a full library copy stored on the local hard drive
• Use the Support page to set language preference and document location and to access help topics and usage tips
• Work with the latest available technician focused publications and integrated DTC content for supported engines

Compatibility notes
The OCSI USB viewer is designed for use on Windows based workshop PCs and relies on Microsoft Internet Explorer components for displaying certain content.
Current product publications and interactive schematics are provided as PDF files for offline viewing while some newer online viewers are not accessible from the USB edition.
Diagnostic trouble codes are included inside the applicable engine diagnostic manuals instead of a separate DTC document type.
S13 integrated powertrain publications are included in the data set and can be opened directly through File Explorer when they are not listed in the application tree.
Actual coverage and available manuals can vary by vehicle model, engine family, market and production year.

Basic usage

• Determine whether the target PC is running a 32 bit or 64 bit edition of Windows and log on with an account that has administrator rights
• From the USB root, run the matching USB On-Command Project_R8_32bit_Install.cmd or USB On-Command Project_R8_64bit_Install.cmd script and confirm any security prompts
• Launch the OnCommand Service Information application from the desktop icon or Start menu and open the Support page
• Set the document location to the USB drive or to the local drive letter if you have copied the library using _CopyLibraryToPC.bat
• Choose the desired filters such as document type and model series and use View All or View Selected to list relevant manuals then open the required PDF

Operating systems
The OCSI USB documentation and installer procedures are written for common Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems used in service environments.

• Windows 7 32 bit and 64 bit
• Windows 8.1 32 bit and 64 bit
• Windows 10 32 bit and 64 bit
• Operation on newer Windows 11 64 bit systems may be possible using appropriate compatibility settings and Internet Explorer components

Minimum system requirements

• CPU: Dual core 2.0 GHz processor or faster
• RAM: 4 GB system memory or more recommended for large PDF manuals
• Storage: At least 20 GB free disk space including about 14 GB for the copied OCSI library
• Display: 1366 x 768 screen resolution or higher
• Software: Microsoft .NET Framework, SQL LocalDB, Internet Explorer components and Arbortext IsoView as prompted by the installer
• Other: USB port for the original media and local administrator rights for installation and updates
