ProByte J2534 (AirByte 1.0.0.32) is a portable SRS/airbag utility that works via J2534 Pass-Thru adapters to read/clear DTCs and, on supported units, perform crash-data reset over CAN.

AirByte 1.0.0.32 J2534 app showing “Erase Crash Data?” prompt with connected MVCI adapter

Highlights
  • Works through standard J2534-1 Pass-Thru interface (adapter-agnostic design).
  • SRS/airbag focus: ECU identification, DTC read/erase, crash-data reset where permitted by ECU.
  • “On-bench” or in-vehicle operation through OBD or breakout—shows connection tips inside [Help].
  • Lightweight UI with real-time status, logs and built-in HEX view for advanced users.
  • No online account required after device/driver setup.

Tested adapters (user-reported)
  • Tactrix Openport 2.0 (J2534)
  • Scanmatik-2
  • VXDIAG MVCI / mini-VCI
  • Chipsoft-J2534
Note. Capability depends on ECU/vehicle and adapter firmware. Some features may be limited on specific interfaces.

Package contents
  • ProByte 1.0.0.32 application
  • J2534 helper/drivers folder (vendor drivers are still required for your adapter)
  • Documentation: brief help inside app ([Help] button)

Quick install & connect
  • Unpack the archive to a local folder (e.g., Desktop\ProByte).
  • Install the included helper drivers (if present) and the official driver for your J2534 adapter.
  • Plug in the USB dongle/device (if applicable) and your J2534 interface.
  • Launch AirByte as Administrator.
  • Select your adapter in settings, connect to the ECU (vehicle or bench), then choose the function (Read/Erase DTC, Clear Crash, etc.).

Basic usage tips
  • Bench mode: follow Help → connection hints; terminate CAN with ~120 Ω when required.
  • Vehicle mode: stable 12–14 V supply recommended during service.
  • Always read/save ECU ID and logs before any write operation.
  • If crash-data reset is unsupported by the ECU, the function will abort safely.

Compatibility notes
  • Standard: SAE J2534-1 Pass-Thru (adapter vendor DLL required).
  • Vehicle scope: airbag/SRS ECUs that expose diagnostic and crash-data routines via CAN/K-line; support varies by brand/ECU generation.

Operating systems
Windows 7/8/10/11 (x64 recommended).

Minimum system requirements
  • CPU: Dual-core 2.0 GHz or better
  • RAM: 4 GB+
  • Storage: 200 MB free
