Just a technical reminder: After flashing the virgin file, the Bosch ME7.3.1 ECU is designed to self-adapt to the immobilizer code from the Body Computer (NBC) upon the first ignition ON.

  • Install the ECU.
  • Turn Ignition ON (do not start engine).
  • Wait approximately 30-60 seconds to allow the code exchange.
  • Turn Ignition OFF, then start the car.

You may also need to perform a Proxi Alignment afterwards using tools like MultiEcuScan if the odometer flashes or if there are CAN configuration errors.

ECU HS damage and also light key/lock on dashboard, unfortunately one key and no security code , so I have ordered security code from Alfa, I am waiting to get it

Since you are working on a Spider 916, the architecture is slightly different from the 156 (you likely have a separate Immobilizer Box rather than a Body Computer), but the Bosch ME7.3.1 virginization logic remains the same.

Important Note on the Key Light:
You mentioned the key/lock light is on. For the virgin ECU to successfully self-adapt (learn the code), the Immobilizer system must first successfully recognize your key.
  • If the light is on because the donor ECU is currently mismatched, flashing the virgin file will fix it.
  • If the light is on because the Immobilizer Box cannot read your key (antenna fault, bad transponder, etc.), the virgin ECU will not be able to learn the code, because the box won't send the authorization signal.

Since you have MultiEcuScan, it would be wise to connect to the Immobilizer module (if accessible) to verify it recognizes the key "Transponder" as valid before you install the virgin ECU.

The Security Code you ordered will be very useful if you need to program new keys or perform an emergency start, but the virgin ECU strategy is the correct path for the hardware swap. Hopefully, someone can pick up your zip file and раtсh it for you soon.

That is good news. A reading of 3.4 Ohms confirms the antenna coil has continuity and is not open (which is a common failure point).

Since you have verified the hardware side (Key ID33 and Antenna):

  • If the CODE light is still on, the issue is likely a synchronization mismatch between the ECU and the Immobilizer Box.
  • The virgin file is indeed the correct solution here.

Once you receive the modified file and flash it to the 95080 EEPROM:
  1. Install the ECU.
  2. Turn the ignition ON.
  3. The ECU will listen to the signal from the Immobilizer Box (which reads your ID33 key).
  4. Once the handshake is successful, the ECU will store the code and the light should extinguish.

If the light remains on even with a virgin ECU, you may need to check the wiring continuity (specifically the W-Line) between the Immobilizer Box and the ECU connector.
 
Body computer is yellow

That confirms you have the CODE 2 system (usually a yellow Magneti Marelli box).

On the 916 platform, this is a standalone Immobilizer Unit (unlike the 156/147 which use a Body Computer/NBC). This is actually good news because the system is less complex.

The procedure remains exactly the same for the Yellow Box:
  • Virginize the ME7.3.1 EEPROM.
  • Connect the ECU.
  • Turn Ignition ON.
  • The Yellow Box reads the key and sends the unlock code to the ECU.
  • The ECU pairs with the Yellow Box permanently.

If you selected Write and clicked "Do It" instead of Read, the consequences depend on whether a file was actually loaded in the software to be written.

  • Scenario A: No file was selected.
    If the "File" box was empty or the path was invalid, the software likely gave an error and did nothing. In this case, your ECU is safe. You can try to Read it again properly.
  • Scenario B: A file was selected and written.
    If the progress bar completed and it said "Success", you have overwritten the data in the EEPROM (chip 95080) with whatever file was loaded.
    • If you overwrote it with a blank file or garbage, the ECU data is lost.
    • If you overwrote it with a file from another car, the ECU now has that car's data.

Is this a major problem?
No, it is fixable.

Since your goal is to virginize the ECU anyway:
  1. You do not strictly need your specific original file.
  2. You can use a "donor" EEPROM dump from any other Alfa Romeo V6 3.2 with the same ECU Hardware Number (e.g., Bosch 0 261 207 xxx).
  3. Once you have a donor file, you apply the virgin раtсh to it.
  4. Then you write that new virgin file to your ECU.
