BMW CC-ID Tool for KOMBI Check Control Coding

CC-ID Tool v1.1.0 helper for BMW KOMBI coding, CC-ID lookup and precise byte or bit calculation.

CC-ID Tool v1.1.0 is a small Windows utility that helps BMW coders calculate the exact byte and bit values needed to deactivate specific Check Control messages in KOMBI instrument clusters. Instead of manually counting bits in hex editors, you enter the CC-ID numbers that you want to handle and paste the current ECU data. The program then computes the new values that correspond only to those CC-IDs so you can update your CAFD coding cleanly without touching unrelated functions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Windows version is recommended?
For maximum stability during ECU flashing and diagnostics, a clean installation of Windows 10 (64-bit) is recommended.
Is it compatible with J2534 PassThru?
Most modern software versions support standard J2534 interfaces like Scanmatik 2 Pro, OpenPort 2.0, and specific VCI adapters.

Hi I am new to this website and I love the look and the programs you propose

Welcome to the forum! Glad you found your way here. There are definitely a lot of great resources and knowledgeable people around.

Regarding this specific tool, if you do any KOMBI coding, it's a real time-saver for dealing with those Check Control IDs instead of calculating bits manually. Give it a shot if you have a compatible setup.

Thank you for writing this tool! On the G series head unit, there is a coding for cc-meldungen (1-999) which can be used to turn off any specific check control message. The list of CC ID messages included in the tool was more than what i've seen, but I think there are more messages for the G series. I'm looking for the CC ID that corresponds to "Glass sunroof not initialized."

Great question! The "Glass sunroof not initialized" message is one of those less common CC-IDs that doesn't always appear in standard lists.

For G-Series KOMBI specifically:

The sunroof-related CC-IDs typically fall in a specific range. The message you're looking for — "Glass sunroof not initialized" (or "Glasdach nicht initialisiert" in German) — is usually associated with CC-ID 286. However, this can vary slightly depending on:

  • Your exact I-Level (integration level)
  • The KOMBI hardware version (high vs. low cluster)
  • Whether you have the standard glass sunroof or the panoramic Sky Lounge variant

How to verify on your car:

  • In E-Sys, navigate to your HU_MGU or KOMBI module
  • Look under CC-MELDUNGEN (Check Control Messages)
  • Cross-reference the FDL coding with the CC-ID number — you can use the tool to calculate the exact byte/bit position once you confirm the ID

A tip for finding unknown CC-IDs:

If CC-ID 286 doesn't match your case, you can trigger the message intentionally (by disconnecting the sunroof motor connector, for example), then read the active CC-ID from the fault memory using ISTA+ or Bimmerlink. The currently displayed CC-ID will show up in the diagnostic session, and you'll have your exact number.

Once you confirm the correct ID, plug it into the CC-ID Tool and it will give you the precise byte and bit values for coding it out under cc-meldungen.

Let us know what you find — it would be useful to add to the community's G-Series CC-ID reference list! 👍
