X-Trail 2.0 DCI BOSCH EDC16CP33 500066 / SW-394500 — ECU Firmware
Although the 2009 Nissan X-Trail 2.0 dCi already feels lively, its factory Bosch EDC16CP33 calibration is set up with generous safety margins that leave close to 40 Nm of untapped torque on the table. This Stage 1 binary reshapes the main torque model, driver-wish and smoke limiters, lifts turbo duty ceilings and re-aligns rail-pressure targets to exploit that reserve without breaching EGT limits. Mid-range punch improves markedly, giving crisper throttle response and quicker overtakes, yet fuel economy in steady-state cruising remains unchanged thanks to refined partial-load injection timing. Cold-start and altitude compensations are preserved, and all diagnostic trouble-code paths as well as limp-home strategies stay active, so drivetrain safety is never compromised. Designed for six-speed manual gearboxes, clutch-torque monitors are adjusted to stay inside stock hardware capacity, ensuring long-term reliability. The file flashes through any EVC-compatible tool in minutes and is intended for engines running stock turbo, intercooler and exhaust after-treatment; no mechanical upgrades are required. With the calibration loaded the X-Trail pulls harder from 1 700 rpm, holds power to 4 300 rpm and delivers an estimated 190 hp while retaining the smooth drivability expected from a family SUV.

I have a nissan x trail 2008 year 2.0dci 150hp 6 speed m9r. Stage 1 has already been done at ATM PERFORMANCE. Tell me about this map that it was made for off-road and off-road only, since the x-trail is driven through the city every day. I'm happy with the power right now but I'm wondering what I'd get with this map. thank you

I have a nissan x trail 2008 year 2.0dci 150hp 6 speed m9r. Stage 1 has already been done at ATM PER...

You already have a Stage 1 tune from ATM Performance, so in practice the gains from this B&C Consulting file would be very similar — both target roughly the same area (≈190 PS / +40 Nm) on the same EDC16CP33 platform with the M9R engine.

Regarding the "off-road / motorsport only" disclaimer:

That's a legal disclaimer, not a technical limitation. Nearly every tuning file seller uses this wording to avoid liability related to emissions regulations, type-approval (homologation) and warranty claims. It does not mean the map is only suitable for off-road driving conditions. In reality, the vast majority of these Stage 1 files are running daily on public roads without issue.

What would you actually gain switching from your ATM tune to this one?

Honestly — probably very little noticeable difference. Both are Stage 1 calibrations for the same hardware (stock turbo, stock intercooler, stock exhaust). The approach may differ slightly in detail:

  • B&C may have different torque-model shaping or slightly different boost/rail-pressure curves
  • EGR strategy and smoke-limiter philosophy might vary
  • Partial-load fuel economy tuning could be marginally different

But the end result on the dyno will be within a few PS/Nm of each other. Unless you have a specific drivability complaint with your current ATM map (flat spot, surge, smoke, etc.), there's no strong reason to re-flash.

TL;DR: The "off-road only" text is purely legal protection — ignore it for practical purposes. Since you're already Stage 1 and happy with the power, this file won't give you anything meaningfully different.
