I am installing from the D:-drive and after entering the password it issues "an error occurred while extracting". enough space foreseen, password as posted

change to 3, ista is working on 3 and bmw standart tools like inpa are only working on 1

In the install intructions it states " Disable permanently Windows Defender, as it will slow down and block the installation".
That to me looks like something that is trying to hide gremlins. Has anyone scanned the contents of 4_61_40 files and found them to be clean.

These are patched OEM programs, so it's completely normal that antivirus software flags the patches as viruses or Trojans. We should be glad that someone even puts in the time and effort to crack and provide these tools. If you are paranoid or don't know what you're doing, just stay away from it.

Hi Vlas67. In addition to thanking you for this version of ISTA—and for everything else you do for the forum in general—I wanted to let you know that version 4.61.40 works very well; it even provides warnings for low battery voltage (<12.55V), which previous versions didn't do. If I had to point out one thing—just in case it’s helpful—the process for clearing error codes takes a bit longer. It would also be fantastic if the Italian language could be included, though I realize that’s likely impossible. Thanks again for everything!
