5. Create a folder: " what name do i ...

Good questions — the readme is a bit unclear on those steps. Let me clarify:

Step 5 — Folder & publickey.bin

The full folder path is the name. You need to create the entire nested directory structure:

Code:
c:\com\cognitran\topix\client\sdd\v3_0\security\

So starting from the root of C:\, you're creating:
  • com → inside it cognitran → inside it topix → inside it client → inside it sdd → inside it v3_0 → inside it security

You can do this quickly by opening Command Prompt as Administrator and running:
Code:
mkdir c:\com\cognitran\topix\client\sdd\v3_0\security

As for publickey.bin — this file is generated by the kеуg** in Step 4. When you run:
Code:
java -jar kеуg**.jar
it should output publickey.bin into the same directory where you ran the kеуg** (the keygen_jar folder). After it's generated, move/copy it into the security folder you just created.

Step 6 — The user hash file

The long string:
Code:
aa3b39f875924856d6cc1149673abe3eaed2ea6dded4703beedd811fac436fa2

That is the filename — it's not a folder. It's a file with that hash as its name (no extension). This file is also generated by the kеуg** in Step 4, same as publickey.bin.

So after running kеуg**.jar, you should find both files in the kеуg** output directory:
  • publickey.bin → move to c:\com\cognitran\topix\client\sdd\v3_0\security\
  • aa3b39f8... (the hash file) → move to C:\ProgramData\JLR\IDS\Users\

Note: The ProgramData folder is hidden by default in Windows. To navigate to it, either type the path directly in File Explorer's address bar, or enable "Show hidden files" in Folder Options.

If the kеуg** doesn't produce both files, make sure Java JRE is properly installed and you're running it from the correct directory where kеуg**.jar and all the .jar dependencies are located.

help me why it show this?

The error message says "Local system date and time have been modified".

This is a license/security check built into SDD/Pathfinder. It detects that your Windows system clock has been changed (either manually or by sync issues), and it blocks login as a protection against license tampering.

To fix this:

  1. Make sure your Windows date, time, and timezone are set correctly to your actual current date/time.
  2. Go to Windows Settings → Time & Language → Date & Time.
  3. Turn OFF "Set time automatically" and "Set time zone automatically".
  4. Set the correct date/time manually.
  5. Then turn "Set time automatically" back ON.
  6. Restart the application.

Important: If you changed the system date at any point during installation (for example, to bypass an expiry or during the kеуg** step), the software remembers the timestamp. It compares the current clock against the last known time — if it detects the clock went backwards, it throws this error.

If setting the correct time doesn't resolve it, you may need to:

  • Clear the SDD/Pathfinder cache in C:\ProgramData\JLR\
  • Re-run the kеуg** (Step 4) with the correct current system time
  • Move the newly generated publickey.bin and user hash file to their respective folders again
  • Then launch the application without changing the clock

The key rule: never change the system clock after the kеуg** has been run and the software is installed.

You can leave "Set time automatically" turned ON — that's actually the best setting.

The main point is:

  • Your system date and time must be correct and matching your real current time right now.
  • You must not change the clock manually after installation — that's what triggers the error.

So the steps are simple:

  1. Turn ON "Set time automatically"
  2. Make sure the date/time/timezone are all correct
  3. Restart SDD/Pathfinder

If it still gives the same error after confirming the time is correct, then the software already "flagged" the time change. In that case you'll need to re-run the kеуg** and replace the license files again — but this time don't touch the clock afterwards.

re-run publickey.bin ?

Yes, exactly.

  • Re-run the kеуg** to generate a new publickey.bin and user hash file
  • Make sure your system time is correct before running the kеуg**
  • Copy the new publickey.bin to its correct folder (overwrite the old one)
  • Copy the new user hash file as well
  • Launch SDD/Pathfinder
  • Do not touch the system clock after this

That should clear the "Local system date and time have been modified" error.

No, it should not be limited to one day.

If installed correctly, it should work continuously without any time limit. The error you're getting is not because of a one-day expiry — it's because the software detected that the system clock was changed at some point.

If it keeps expiring or blocking after one day, the most likely causes are:

  • Windows automatic time sync is adjusting the clock slightly, and the software sees it as a "change"
  • The kеуg** was run with a wrong date/time, so the license timestamp doesn't match
  • The publickey.bin or user hash was generated on a different date than the current system time

To fix it permanently:

  1. Set your correct date/time and timezone
  2. Turn ON "Set time automatically"
  3. Re-run the kеуg** now with the correct current time
  4. Replace publickey.bin and user hash files
  5. Launch the software
  6. Never manually change the clock again

After doing this it should work every day without problems. If it still only works for one day, let me know what happens exactly — does it show the same error message the next day?

Ah, now I understand the issue clearly.

So the license was generated with an expiry date of 8 April 2026, and now it's 9 April 2026 — so the license has actually expired. That's why it stopped working.

This is not a clock change issue — the license simply reached its end date.

To fix it:

  1. Make sure your system date/time is correct (9 April 2026 or whatever today's date is)
  2. Re-run the kеуg** again — this will generate a new publickey.bin and user hash with a new expiry date
  3. Replace the old publickey.bin and user hash files with the new ones
  4. Launch SDD/Pathfinder

It should give you a new license period from today.

Note: Some keygens generate a license valid for only a limited period (like 1 year, 6 months, or even just days). If yours keeps expiring quickly, check if there's a setting in the kеуg** to set a longer validity period, or you may need a newer/updated kеуg** version.

What kеуg** version are you using?

I tried on different laptops with Win 10 and Win 11, but this fix doesn't work. I've tried all possible options. It's possible that something has been changed on Jaguar's servers. SDD v168 is working ok.

This is up and running on a clean install laptop running Win 11.
Wasn`t able to connect to JLR for the calibration file download though. I have the VBF files so was able to install directly.

Tried an install on another laptop which is currently in use with other things, but wasn`t successful with that, ended up with the problem NetBenz described, tried all combinations of the time settings but nothing worked?

Good morning everyone! So trying to install this раtсh on JLr SDD 169 installed on Windows 11 everything should work??? I tried everything with Windows 10 64 bit latest version and latest update but nothing worked. At the moment, where the page to enter username should exit, "the system error" appears. If you tell me that it works with Windows 11 I can try.
