Introducing the CAS1 Editor v1.0, a powerful and free software utility designed for the automotive community, including technicians, programmers, and BMW enthusiasts. This tool simplifies complex tasks related to the BMW Car Access System 1 (CAS1) module, allowing for direct modification of your EEPROM data without the need for expensive software.
Whether you are replacing a faulty CAS unit, synchronizing data after a swap, or need to make specific adjustments, this editor provides a user-friendly interface to get the job done efficiently.
Key Features:
- Edit ISN: Easily read and write the Individual Serial Number (ISN) to synchronize the CAS module with the engine control unit (ECU).
- Change VIN: Modify the 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) stored in the CAS module, essential when adapting a used unit to a new vehicle.
- Mileage Correction: Reset or change the mileage value stored in the EEPROM.
- Key Management: View the status of all 10 key slots, see key IDs, and save key data.
- Simple Interface: A clean, straightforward layout allows you to open your file, make the necessary changes, and save it with just a few clicks.
This tool is designed to work with dumps from the following CAS1 processors (masksets) and EEPROM sizes:
- 4KB EEPROM Dumps: for modules with 2K79X and 0L01Y (MC9S12DG128/256) processors.
- 2KB EEPROM Dumps: for modules with 0K50E (MC68HC912DG128A) processors.
To read the data from your CAS1 module and write it back, you will need a compatible hardware programmer capable of handling Motorola/Freescale processors. Commonly used programmers for this job include:
- XPROG-M
- UPA-S (UPA-USB)
- Orange5
- VVDI Prog
- R270+
- Carefully read the EEPROM data from your CAS1 module using one of the compatible programmers listed above.
- Click "Open File" in the CAS1 Editor and load your saved dump file.
- Use the dedicated "Change" or "Reset" buttons to modify the ISN, VIN, or Mileage.
- Click "Save" to save the modified EEPROM file.
- Write the new, modified file back to your CAS1 module using your programmer.
