1. Check if your ISTA installation path is standard (e.g. C:\EC-APPS\ISTA or C:\ISTA). Non-default paths often cause detection failures.
2. Open regedit and verify that the ISTA registry keys exist under:
   
   Code:

   HKLM\SOFTWARE\BMW\ISPI\ISTA

   If the key is missing or the install path value is wrong/empty, that's your problem.
3. If you installed ISTA in a custom directory, try creating or correcting the registry key manually to point to your actual ISTA root folder.
4. Make sure you're running ISTA-Updater GUI.exe as Administrator — without elevation it may not have permission to read certain registry hives.
5. Use v1.3 of the Updater — it has improved path detection compared to the earlier versions in the pack.

• Where exactly is your ISTA installed (full path)?
• Is it a standalone build or Rheingold-based?
• Which Windows version are you running (Win10/Win11, 64-bit)?
