Cummins Calterm 5.16

It's an engineering program for advanced tuning of Cummins engine ECUs. Unlike standard dealer scanners, it allows you to modify hidden factory calibrations: remove power and speed limits, and disable emissions control systems (EGR, DPF, SCR).

Why are metafiles (.ecfg / .ecf) needed?
These are configuration “translation maps” for a specific firmware version. Calterm will not work without them. They are needed for:

Navigation: they specify the exact address of the desired parameter in the ECU’s memory.
Decoding: converting raw machine code into human-readable text labels.
Conversion: translating numerical values into actual physical quantities (RPM, bar, degrees).

Conclusion:
without the correct metafile, Calterm simply won’t understand the ECU’s data structure and won’t allow you to read or change settings.
