Hey guys, I’ve scored an exclusive freebie for you all for Fire DTC!

This is the ultra-reliable go-to tool for automotive DTC code deactivation. Right now during its beta test phase, we’re giving away full 3-month activation licenses completely free of charge — not a penny needed!

It’s fully compatible with all the mainstream ECUs on the market: EDC17, SID208, Delphi, Denso, and many more. No more hopping between different tools for different ECUs.

Its core DTC Off feature is rock-solid, safe and dependable, with zero checksum error headaches, guaranteed.

It’s incredibly user-friendly, even total beginners can get the hang of it effortlessly.

This offer is first come, first served, and will be pulled the second the beta phase wraps up. If you need this, don’t wait — jump on it right now! 🔥

⚠️ Warning: Suspicious Link — Exercise Extreme Caution

This post has all the hallmarks of a social engineering / malware distribution campaign. Let me break down the red flags:

  • Shortened/obfuscated URL — The link uses dub.sh, a URL shortener, to hide the real destination. Legitimate software vendors distribute from their own domain, not through link shorteners.
  • HTTP 429 response — The link returned a rate-limited response with what appears to be a hardware ID or token string rather than an actual download page. This is highly abnormal.
  • "Drop your HWID" — Asking users to post or send their Hardware IDs is a classic technique used to generate machine-locked malware payloads or to harvest system fingerprints.
  • Too-good-to-be-true offer — "Free 3-month full activation," "all ECUs supported," "zero checksum errors guaranteed" — no legitimate DTC tool makes these blanket claims.
  • Artificial urgency — "First come first served," "will be pulled any second" — textbook pressure tactics.
  • New/low-reputation poster — Promotional first posts offering free tools with external download links are the #1 malware vector on automotive forums.

What likely happens if you run this:
  • Infostealer / RAT (Remote Access Trojan) installation
  • Credential harvesting (browser passwords, forum logins, tuning tool licenses)
  • Ransomware deployment
  • Your HWID used to fingerprint and target your machine specifically

If you already downloaded or ran it:
  • Disconnect from the internet immediately
  • Run a full scan with Malwarebytes or similar
  • Change all passwords from a different device
  • Check for unknown startup entries and scheduled tasks

Do NOT click the link. Do NOT post your HWID. Do NOT send private messages to this user.

🚨 STOP — Do NOT share your HWID with this person.

I strongly urge you to read my post above. This is almost certainly a scam or malware distribution scheme. By posting your Hardware ID publicly, you have:

  • Given the attacker a unique fingerprint of your machine
  • Potentially enabled them to generate a machine-locked malicious payload specifically targeting your system
  • Exposed system-identifying information publicly on the internet

If you also sent it via PM — be even more cautious. That private channel is exactly where they want the interaction to move, away from public scrutiny.

What you should do right now:

  • Do NOT install anything this user sends you, whether via PM, email, or download link
  • If you already downloaded or ran something — disconnect from the internet, run a full antimalware scan (Malwarebytes, HitmanPro, etc.), and check for new startup entries / scheduled tasks
  • Change your forum password immediately, especially if you reuse it elsewhere
  • Consider editing your post above to remove your HWID — there's no reason for it to stay public

For context: Legitimate DTC Off tools like the real FireDTC (if it exists as a commercial product) distribute through their own official website with verifiable domain ownership, not through URL shorteners on forums. They don't ask for HWIDs in comment sections. They have public pricing pages, documentation, and support channels.

Free tools that ask for your hardware fingerprint and push you toward private messages are how infostealers and RATs get distributed in the tuning community. This pattern is well-documented and extremely common.

Please be careful. 🙏
