For those new to Ford diagnostics, FORScan is incredibly powerful software that offers near dealer-level capabilities for Ford, Mazda, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles. It goes far beyond what a generic OBDII scanner can do.

Key features usually included in these advanced versions:

• Reading and clearing manufacturer-specific Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from all available modules (PCM, TCM, ABS, RCM, BCM, etc.).
• Viewing live data streams (PIDs) from various sensors.
• Running specific test procedures and service functions (e.g., DPF static regeneration, ABS service bleed, PATS key programming, injector coding).

Hardware Requirement Reminder:
To utilize the full vеrsiоn potential of FORScan and access all modules on both high-speed (HS-CAN) and medium-speed (MS-CAN) networks, you must use a compatible adapter. A basic ELM327 will often only see HS-CAN modules. You need an adapter with a physical MS/HS switch or an automatic one like the OBDLink EX or MX+.
