do you have newest version from this software ?

Check the Updates tab or the History section of the resource page. The latest version shared on the forum is always linked there.

If you are looking for a specific newer build, please specify the version number.

Can other database versions be opened? Databases do not open from the kiswb folder

Please clarify exactly what you are trying to do:

  • Which program exactly are you using - KIS-Checker from this thread, or something else?
  • Which files from the kiswb folder are you trying to open - specify the extension and approximate file name (for example, .xml, .dat, .db, etc.)?
  • What error do you get when trying to open it - a screenshot or the error text?
  • Which KIS database version do you have installed (number/date)?

Without these details, it is hard to say whether the utility supports your database format or not.

Thanks for the screenshot, now it is clear. The error:

Code:
Status: Unable to create requested service [org.hibernate.engine.jdbc.env.spi.JdbcEnvironment]

This is a Hibernate/JDBC error - the program cannot connect to the database. Usually the reasons are the following:

Possible causes and solutions:

  1. Java is not installed or the version is incorrect
KIS Validator / KIS-Checker is a Java application. Make sure the correct JRE/JDK version is installed (usually Java 8). Download it from the official Oracle website or use OpenJDK 8.
  2. The database file is corrupted or incompatible
The file kis.data from the kiswb folder may be in a different format or version that the program does not support. KIS-Checker can only work with a specific database structure/version.
  3. The database path contains Cyrillic characters or spaces
Move the program and the database to a folder without Cyrillic characters or spaces, for example:
    Code:
    C:\KIS\
  4. The required JDBC drivers are missing
Check that all files from the program distribution are present (the lib folder and all .jar files).

What to do:

  • Specify which exact version of the KIS database you are trying to open (which KISWB version it was taken from - date/number).
  • What version of Java is installed? Check with the command:
    Code:
    java -version
  • Where was the database downloaded from - the original KISWB or another source?

Most likely the problem is either incompatibility between the database version and the KIS-Checker version, or a missing/incorrect Java version.

So a database from 2024 won't open?

The cache version opens. It has version 2.6.1. In the kiswb folder, the version is 2.7.4. Am I correct in understanding that 2.6.1 will take the database, and anything above or below it will not?

Yes, you understand the essence of the problem correctly.

KIS-Checker is tied to a specific version of the database structure.

If your KIS-Checker works with database version 2.6.1, then:

  • Databases of version 2.6.1 and close to it (of the same major structure) — will open.
  • Database version 2.7.4 (from the newer KISWB 2024 release) — will not open, because the table structure / Hibernate schema has changed in it. That is exactly why you get error JdbcEnvironment — the field mapping does not match.
  • Very old databases (below 2.6.x) may also not open if the structure differs.

Solution options:

  1. Find an updated version of KIS-Checker that supports 2.7.x databases, if such a version exists.
  2. Use a database from KISWB version 2.6.x - the cached version already works for you, which confirms compatibility.
  3. Downgrade KISWB to 2.6.1 and take the database from there - then the data will not be the freshest, but the program will work.

If you specifically need fresh 2024 data, then without an updated version of KIS-Checker compatible with database 2.7.4, that will not be possible - the DB structure is incompatible.
