V7.05.022 – X431 PRO3/PRO5 Android diagnostic app adapted for Thinkdiag 2 and Ediag Plus interfaces

This app is intended for the devices shown below. Its main advantage is that you can make Thinkdiag 2 and Ediag Plus work with the original X431 brands in the Launch x431pro app by copying the stock brand files to the path specified in “What this build does”. No edits to the brands are required — everything is handled in the app itself, and it works alongside the official Thinkdiag+ application.

Which Windows version is recommended?
For maximum stability during ECU flashing and diagnostics, a clean installation of Windows 10 (64-bit) is recommended.
Is it compatible with J2534 PassThru?
Most modern software versions support standard J2534 interfaces like Scanmatik 2 Pro, OpenPort 2.0, and specific VCI adapters.

Good afternoon.

This specific version of the software is adapted mainly for Thinkdiag 2 and Ediag Plus.

If your interface is the original Thinkdiag (first generation / Thinkdiag 1), this application may not work correctly or may not recognize the VCI. For Thinkdiag 1, other solutions or specific modified versions are generally used (such as the "Old Boot" versions).

What exactly is the model of your equipment?

For the Easydiag Pro V2, this application is not compatible.

This version of the thread was modified specifically to work with the firmware and protocols of Thinkdiag 2 and Ediag Plus. Your connector belongs to an earlier generation.

For Easydiag 2.0, I recommend looking for solutions based on X-Diag Pro3 or DZ that are specific to that model. Trying to use this app may not connect or, worse, may attempt to update the firmware incorrectly.

Thank you for the feedback.

Unfortunately, this confirms a hardware incompatibility. Since the Easydiag V2 uses an older architecture, it cannot communicate with the "shell" of this application, which was designed for the Thinkdiag 2.

In your case, I recommend focusing your search on the X-Diag Pro3 (older versions) or the original Launch software if you still have access to it, as those are the ones that handle this connector best.

Yes, it works on tablets.

In fact, the interface is often better on a tablet because this software is originally designed for the X431 PRO series, which are tablet-based tools.

Just make sure your tablet is running Android (it will not work on iPads/iOS).

Definitely. Using a tablet makes reading wiring diagrams and live data graphs much easier compared to a phone screen. Since this app is derived from the PRO series, it supports landscape mode natively, so it fits the tablet form factor perfectly.
