wow. thanks.

You're welcome!

Make sure to double-check your firewall rules before launching it for the first time. It is easy to forget that step in the excitement, and you definitely do not want to accidentally lock your interface.

Good luck with the tuning!

Using a VM with the network adapter completely removed (or set to Host-Only with no gateway) is indeed the safest way to prevent the software from phoning home.

However, there are a couple of important warnings regarding your setup:

  • Hardware Version: There is no "MPVI4" released yet. I assume you mean MPVI2, MPVI2+, or MPVI3.
  • Compatibility: This specific сrаскed version (5.1.198) is generally designed for the older MPVI1 interfaces. It typically does not work with MPVI2/MPVI3 interfaces because those require the newer licensing system and drivers that this old software version does not possess.
  • Risk: Even without the internet, plugging a newer generation interface (MPVI2/3) into an old сrаскed version of VCM Suite can be risky. The software might try to communicate with the interface using old protocols, which could potentially corrupt the firmware on your device.

If you have an actual MPVI1, the VM method with no network is perfect. If you have a newer unit, this software likely won't recognize it or work correctly.
