VMAXR ECU Speed Limiter Calibration Editor for Tuning Files

v1.0.0.1 – Edit Vmax values in ECU read files, MPH/KPH toggle, built-in ECU support list

VMAXR is a compact Windows utility designed to adjust vehicle maximum speed limiter calibration values inside ECU read files. It works on saved tuning files rather than connecting to a vehicle directly, which makes it useful for controlled workshop workflows where file-based editing is required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Windows version is recommended?
For maximum stability during ECU flashing and diagnostics, a clean installation of Windows 10 (64-bit) is recommended.
Is it compatible with J2534 PassThru?
Most modern software versions support standard J2534 interfaces like Scanmatik 2 Pro, OpenPort 2.0, and specific VCI adapters.

Thank you sir!

Thank you sir!

You're welcome!

Let us know how you get on with it. It would be helpful to the community if you could report back which ECU model (Bosch, Siemens, etc.) you tested it on and if the Vmax раtсh worked correctly.

Cheers!

Does this work on sprinters and crafters.

It mostly depends on the specific ECU installed in the vehicle rather than the chassis itself, but generally yes, it covers many of the common controllers found in those vans.

For Sprinters and Crafters, you are usually dealing with these ECU families:
  • Mercedes Sprinter: Bosch EDC16C31, EDC16CP31, EDC17CP46, EDC17CP57, or Delphi CRD3.
  • VW Crafter: Bosch EDC16CP34, EDC17CP20, or EDC17C54.

Since VMAXR focuses heavily on Bosch structures, it should work fine on the EDC16 and EDC17 variants. The best way to confirm is to load your read file into the tool; if it successfully detects the Vmax address/map, it will work.

Note: If you have a newer model with a Delphi ECU (like CRD3), check the support list first, as those structures are different from Bosch.
