Yes, absolutely. Volvo Tech Tool is the primary software for that.

Depending on the engine model (D11, D13, D16, etc.), you will find these specific tests under the Test tab in the navigation menu:

  • Cylinder Compression Test
  • Cylinder Balancing
  • Injector Cut-out (Manual selection of cylinders)

Just make sure you are connected to the vehicle and the engine is at operating temperature for the most accurate results. Since this is the 2025 APCI kit, it covers the newer common rail systems as well.

You are absolutely right, this is a permissions/liсеnsе issue.

In Volvo Tech Tool (PTT), the functionality is controlled by the User ID and the permissions stored in the APCI database.
  • Basic / Fleet Level: Can only read and clear DTCs (Fault Codes).
  • Service / Developer Level: Can perform Tests (Injector cut-out, Compression), Calibrations, and Programming.

If you can only see DTCs, the "сrаск" or асtivаtоr you used did not correctly раtсh the database, or you are logging in with a restricted User ID.

Regarding Vodia 5.2.50: That software is specific to Volvo Penta (Marine and Industrial engines). While it is powerful, it is quite old now. For modern diagnostics and injector testing on Trucks or Construction equipment, you definitely need a fully unlосkеd Tech Tool (like the one in this thread) with Developer privileges enabled.

Try re-running the асtivаtоr or check if there is a specific User ID (like M311331 or similar) provided in the text file that you must use to get full access.

Okay, in this folder there is a video that explains the steps, but it’s for another version of the program. There is also a file that contains a password for the newer version. You cannot use a simple "OBD to USB" cable (like the ones used for cars/ELM327). Those will not work with Volvo Tech Tool or Heavy Duty trucks.

You need a proper RP1210 Compliant Communication Adapter.

  • Volvo Vocom I (88890300) or Vocom II (88894000): These are the official OEM adapters. They are the most stable, support all special programming functions, and handle the high-speed communication required for newer trucks (ISO 15765).
