@first poster — CAS3+ ISN reading on your 2011 E93 N52:

CAS3+ Editor is an offline EEPROM editor — it does not communicate with the car directly. It works on a raw EEPROM dump file that you read from the CAS3+ module's processor (Motorola MC9S12XDP512) using a BDM/JTAG programmer like Xprog, VVDI Prog, Orange5, or similar.

Here's how it fits into your workflow:

  • Step 1 — Read the EEPROM: You need to read the CAS3+ EEPROM via BDM using your Xprog3. Connect to the CAS module on the bench or on the car (if your Xprog supports it) and dump the EEPROM. Make sure you get a full read, not a partial one.
  • Step 2 — Open in CAS3+ Editor: Load the dump file into this tool. It will display the VIN, all 10 key slots, and — critically — the ISN for DME and EGS.
  • Step 3 — Use the ISN: Once you have the ISN, you can use it for key programming or DME/EGS synchronization as needed.

Regarding your Launch X431 Pro3 V+: The Launch tool can do some IMMO functions on BMW, but CAS3+ ISN reading typically requires either BDM access to the CAS EEPROM or an OBD-based ISN read through specific protocols (which tools like VVDI2, Yanhua ACDP, or Autel IM608 handle). The Launch may not support direct ISN extraction from CAS3+. Your Xprog3 is the right tool for the BDM read — focus on that path.

So yes, this editor will help your situation, but it's the second step. First you need a successful EEPROM dump from Xprog3.
