Hi guys,
I'm looking for some help with coding a replacement headlight module on my 2021 BMW F40 116d.
The car was involved in an accident, and I've been repairing it myself. One of the parts I had to replace was the FLEL module, so I picked up a used 5A0AF89 from a 2023 F40. Both modules have the same hardware revision, and my car has the standard non-adaptive Bi-LED headlights.
I expected to just install the module and code it with E-Sys, but it hasn't been that simple.
With PSdZData 4.59.10 (Full), E-Sys recognizes the module, but I get a NotExecutable error when trying to code the CAFD.
I then looked into downgrading the SWFL to match the software version of my original module. Unfortunately, I couldn't get past the TAL calculation because of an issue with the ACSM (airbag) module, which seems to have some null values.
I also tried PSdZData 4.39.20, as it's closer to my car's current I-Step, but that version doesn't recognize the newer SWFL installed on the replacement module.
So I'm a bit stuck now!
Can I flash just the FLEL module with an older SWFL and then code it normally? Or is there another way to get the current software working with my car's I-Step?
I'd really like to avoid updating the entire car, as I don't have a proper power supply for a full ECU flash.
Has anyone managed to do something similar? Any advice on how to approach this with E-Sys would be great!
I'll attach the vehicle details and an E-Sys screenshot showing the software versions of both modules.
Thanks in advance!
