BMW SME Module Recovery — Crash Data Reset and Virginizing Pack#

Virginize used Storage Management Electronics (SME) and clear crash data.

This technical solution package provides the necessary files and documentation to safely virginize BMW Storage Management Electronics (SME) modules. It is highly useful for clearing hard crash data after an accident or when retrofitting a second-hand SME unit to a new vehicle. The package includes virgin D-Flash files and wiring diagrams specifically tailored for the TC27X processor architecture.

Hey! Do you know if this is possible for 330e etc. 12kwh/34Ah hybrid pack SME's?

Chip: SPC564A80L7 (= Freescale MPC5644A "Andorra"), 176-LQFP. It's the BMW SME (battery management electronics) from a 330e (2021), also used on other 34Ah/12kWh BMW PHEVs.

What I've found so far: with an Xhorse Multi-Prog I get a clean, repeatable JTAG IDCODE 0x2AE02041, but the tool then reports "connection failed" at the debug-connect step. So the wiring/power is good (IDCODE reads) — this looks like the MCU is censored (TAP answers, but core/flash debug access is blocked).

Goal: bench virginize + SOH/DTC reset on the SME.

Question: is there a known boot-mode / password method for this specific SME, or a mail-in service that can read/write/virginize this censored SPC564A80 SME? Any pointers on which tool + adapter combination actually works on this exact module would be appreciated.
