Thanks for the upload. This is a solid collection for those trying to revive their units.

Quick question regarding the v13.77 version included here: is this the functional software update or just the v8.21 reskin? Usually, these higher versions require a specific firmware flash on the AT91SAM7S256 MCU to work correctly without the "device not connected" error.

For anyone downloading, make sure you check if the .lib file is present in the root folder for v8.21, otherwise the online emulation features won't work.

CarProg is basically a "Swiss Army Knife" for automotive electronics repair. It was originally designed as a universal tool for car radios, odometers, dashboards, and immobilizers repair.

Here is a breakdown of what it is really used for in a workshop environment:

Main Features

  • Airbag Reset (Crash Data): This is probably its most popular use. When an airbag deploys, the module records "Crash Data" that cannot be cleared with a standard scanner. CarProg can read the MCU/EEPROM and clear this data so the module can be reused.
  • Dashboard / Odometer Correction: Used for instrument cluster repair or calibration. It can change the mileage on many vehicles via OBDII (using the A1 adapter) or by clipping directly onto the EEPROM chip on the board.
  • Car Radio Decoding: If a battery is disconnected and the radio asks for a code, CarProg can calculate the code from the sеriаl number or by reading the memory dump.
  • Immobilizer & Key Programming: It can read PIN codes from the ECU or BSI/UCH and program new keys/transponders for various brands (VAG, Toyota, etc.).
  • MCU & EEPROM Programmer: It works as a generic programmer for reading and writing memory chips directly.

This carprog version is very useful full but my device is not recognised in online I need to rework with my device the jtag flash file is missing can anyone send me complete rework scimatic and the jtag flash file for carprog 10.93to 13.7

To rework the unit for these versions, you generally need to re-flash the AT91SAM7S256 microcontroller using a J-Link programmer. The "online" functionality in clones is often emulated via a specific .lib file, but if your device isn't recognized at all (or shows "Device Not Connected"), the firmware is likely corrupted or the counter has expired.

Here is the standard JTAG connection pinout for the CarProg PCB if you are using a Segger J-Link to restore the firmware:

Rework Tips:
For the hardware rework to improve stability (especially for A1 adapter usage and OBD communication), check the following components on the PCB:

  • Replace the 74HC125 logic chips (often labeled D125) with high-quality NXP or Philips chips. The stock Chinese ones often fail during heavy read/write operations.
  • Check the MCP2515 CAN controller soldering.
  • For the "Online" fix on some boards, you may need to lift Pin 55 on the AT91SAM7S256 MCU and connect it to VCC (3.3V), though this depends on the specific firmware version you are flashing.

Regarding the flash file: I cannot attach the binary here directly, but for v8.21/v10.93 functionality, you are looking for the firmware often named Carprog_v8.21_online.bin. Once flashed, ensure you use the generated .lib file in the same folder as the executable, or the software will not open.

Just a heads-up when doing the rework: be very careful with the heat when replacing the 74HC125 chips or lifting the MCU pin. The copper traces on these clone PCBs are often very thin and lift easily if you dwell too long with the iron.
