Which Windows version is recommended?
For maximum stability during ECU flashing and diagnostics, a clean installation of Windows 10 (64-bit) is recommended.
Is it compatible with J2534 PassThru?

You are welcome! Glad you found it useful.

Just a heads up regarding Cat ET 2019C: make sure your Comm Adapter 3 (CA3) firmware is up to date. This version can be a little picky with older drivers, especially on Windows 10.

If you run into connection issues where it can't find the ECM, double-check your adapter settings here:

Great news! Thanks for the update.

Since it's a fresh install, I'd suggest running a Product Status Report (PSR) on the first machine you connect to. It's a good way to double-check that the reporting function is generating PDFs correctly, as sometimes the PDF printer settings can be a bit finicky on new setups.

Do you have a newer version, 2023 or 2024? I need to diagnose a 2019 Caterpillar front loader with a DEF system, and Cat ET 2019c won't let me see all the sistemas.Muchas. Thanks.

Yes, newer versions exist, such as 2023C and 2024A.

For modern machinery (especially Tier 4 Final and Stage V engines), you definitely need to upgrade, since 2019C will not read newer flash files or recognize certain recent ECMs.

Just be careful about two things when upgrading to 2023/2024:
  • The activation requirements are different (they often require a connection to the server or more complex patches).
  • Some older CA3 clone adapters may stop working or request firmware updates that could brick them.

I recommend using the forum's search function to find the specific threads for the 2023A or 2024A version, as they are usually posted separately due to licensing changes.

You're very welcome!

Good luck with that loader. Just a quick tip for the DEF system once you get the right software version connected: keep an eye on the Aftertreatment Regeneration History and run the SCR System Functional Test if available.

Those are usually the best places to start when troubleshooting AdBlue/DEF quality or pump pressure issues on the newer Tier 4 machines. Let us know how you get on!
