The MSV90 (Infineon TC1796) is complicated when it is locked or has no communication. To guide you, I need some information:

  • What exactly is the problem? Bricked (no communication), locked by protection, corrupted flash?
  • HW number and SW number of the DME (ECU label)
  • Exact vehicle (model, engine, year)
  • Which tool did you try leer/escribir? (KTAG, Autotuner, CMD, BitBox, etc.)
  • Can you read via OBD or only on the bench (BDM/Boot)?

In general, for MSV90 TC1796, the usual options are:

  • Lectura/escritura via BDM (TriCore boot mode) — KTAG, Autotuner, CMD Flash, or BitBox can access it through BDM points if there is no OBD communication.
  • Corrupted flash repair — the original dump (ori/full) is needed for restoration. If you do not have it, one with the same HW/SW.
  • must be obtained.checksum/firmaRSA correction — if it has signature protection, tools such as Autotuner or CMD handle the correction for MSV90.

Share that information and we will see which option applies to your case.

I'm trying to unlock it. I already have the donor file, but I need the software to be able to unlock it.

To guide you properly, I need you to clarify a few points:

  1. What type of "lock" does the DME have? Immobilizer protection (EWS/CAS), a DME bricked by a failed flash, or RSA/firma?
  2. protection? What are the HW number and SW number of your DME and the donor one?
  3. What tool are you working with? (KTAG, Autotuner, CMD Flash, BitBox, Autohex, etc.)
  4. Do you have BDM access (tricore boot), or is there no communication of any kind?

The software and procedure change completely depending on the type of lock:

  • Lock EWS/CAS (immobilizer): you need to synchronize the ISN between the DME and the CAS. For this, Autohex II (Hexprog), VVDI2 + BDM adapter or Xhorse Key Tool Plus are used. They allow you to leer/escribir the ISN via BDM and pair them.
  • Corrupt flash / bricked: access via BDM (Boot/Tricore) with KTAG, Autotuner, CMD Flash, or BitBox to write the donor dump. The HW number must match exactly.
  • Protection RSA/firma: Autotuner or CMD Flash handle signature correction in MSV90.

With that information, I can tell you the specific procedure.

there is no communication
with the DME, because when trying to change the ISN, the information became corrupted
