GM ECU FLASHER

Hello,

I am download and installed GM ECU FLASHER J2534 Programming Utility v02 from this website. I connect on a bench harness for e38 ECU. It will connect to ecu, read the Vin, download the kernal, it will read the eeprom and save the bin file. When i go to read the flash it will say unsuccessful immediately. What is the cause for the this failure?

It could be the interface you are using to perform the reading, since that tool works well.

thanks for the replay. Ive used topdon rlink x3 and topdon rlink j2534. Which interface devices would you recommend i look into?

Try a Scanmatik—they don't let you down... although the Topdon J2534 is also very good.

im going to look into that interface. Also, i was reading something about possibly having a 120ohm resistor on the CAN wires on the bench harness i built. Is there any truth to that? I have been trying to get this to work for about a month now
