Good question. The Isuzu E-IDSS (Industrial Engine Diagnostic Service System) is designed specifically for Isuzu industrial engines, meaning the engines installed in:

• Construction machinery (excavators, loaders, etc.)
• Generators and generating sets
• Agricultural equipment
• Industrial pumps
• Vessels (marine engines)
• Other OEM equipment that uses Isuzu engines

What about Isuzu trucks?

For Isuzu trucks and commercial vehicles (N Series, F Series, ELF, Forward, Giga, D-Max, etc.), the corresponding OEM software is Isuzu G-IDSS (Global IDSS) or Isuzu IDSS II, which are geared toward the vehicle line.

They are different systems with different databases and ECU coverage. If you connect E-IDSS to a truck, it will most likely not recognize the control unit, or function coverage will be very limited.

In summary:

• E-IDSS → Industrial engines (off-highway)
• G-IDSS / IDSS II → Isuzu trucks and commercial vehicles (on-highway)

If you need diagnostics for trucks, look for G-IDSS. If it is for an industrial engine installed in some equipment, then E-IDSS is the right choice.
