How can I get the password, please?

How can I get the password, please?

As mentioned in the post just above yours, you need to check your Private Messages (DM) or the Welcome Message you received upon registration. On this board, the password is often sent automatically to your inbox to prevent leeching.

If you still can't find it:
  1. Make sure you have pressed the Thanks and Reputation buttons for the uploader (Bin).
  2. Check your spam/junk folder if it was an email notification.
  3. Send a polite PM to the author if the automated message didn't arrive.

Regarding the tool itself:
This utility is very useful for KTAG users working with Tricore or MPC5xx ECUs. It saves a lot of time manually hex-editing the single backup file when you just need to swap the EEPROM data into a donor ECU or extract the Micro for patching.

Just remember to always verify the checksums with your main tool (K-Suite, WinOLS, etc.) before writing the rераскed file back to the unit, especially if you modified the maps in the Flash partition.

i want to notice that utility does not work correctly. 1) need ktag attached and with ktag clone give external exception EEFACE.Anyone can show that is really working in any way? thanks

That's a valid technical observation. Let me address both points:

1) KTAG Required / Clone Compatibility

The EEFACE exception is a classic dongle protection check. The utility is likely reading the KTAG's USB sеriаl number or FTDI chip ID for liсеnsе validation. Clones typically have generic or mismatched sеriаl numbers, so the protection routine throws that external exception.

This means:
  • The tool was designed to work only with original KTAG hardware connected as a dongle/liсеnsе key.
  • Clone KTAG units will fail the check — this is by design, not a bug.

2) Does it actually work?

Good question. If anyone has tested this with a genuine KTAG and can confirm it works properly (backup split, EEPROM extraction, rераск), it would be helpful to share a screenshot or brief confirmation here so others don't waste time.

Workaround suggestion:

If you just need to split/merge KTAG backup files (Flash + EEPROM), you can do it manually:
  • Open the full backup in a hex editor (HxD, 010 Editor)
  • Check the KTAG backup structure — typically the EEPROM block is appended at a known offset after the Flash section
  • Split or replace the EEPROM portion and recalculate checksums if needed

If you share the ECU type (e.g., EDC17, MED17, SID208, etc.) and the file size of your backup, I can help you identify the exact Flash/EEPROM split offset.
