Download didn´t work.
Yes, that’s true. I just checked and it has expired. When I’m back at my computer, I’ll re-upload the archive and send you the link in a direct message. Sorry about that.

Do I need to install a separate Xentry program to run this program? Can't I just download it?

No, it runs perfectly as a standalone application even without Xentry. Don't worry!

Xentry is a program used when connecting directly to a vehicle for diagnostics, while WIS/ASRA is an offline database for checking service manuals, wiring diagrams, and labor times. The two programs can be used together, but it is absolutely not required.

Just mount and install the ISO file you downloaded, then configure a local web server (such as EWA-NET) and activate the license based on the MAC address, and it will open directly in your browser.

If you get stuck during installation or encounter an error, don't worry about it alone—please be sure to attach the exact error text or a screenshot. I need to see the screen to pinpoint exactly what the problem is. I hope you get the setup finished successfully!

No, it runs perfectly well as a standalone application even without Xentry. Don't worry!

Xentry is used to connect directly to the vehicle for diagnostics and programming, while WIS/ASRA is an offline database for checking repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and labor times. You can run both programs, but they are absolutely not required.

Just mount the downloaded ISO file and install it, then set up its own web server (such as EWA-NET) and activate MAC-based authorization, and you can access it directly in your browser.

Even if you get stuck or encounter an error, you do not have to struggle alone; only screenshots cannot be installed. I can pinpoint your questions exactly based on the screen.
Everything is well prepared.
. I will do my best!

Everything is ready.
I couldn't enter the user ID and password...

Ah, you're stuck at the EWA-NET login screen! The installation is almost complete. I'll tell you right away.

The initial default username and password are both admin.

  • User ID: admin
  • Password: admin

Enter them like this, and the system will immediately ask you to change the password for security reasons. At that point, change it to something easy to remember (e.g., admin12345).

💡 Here's a tip:
After logging in, be sure to go to the 'Server' menu or 'Group' settings and check the WIS/ASRA access rights for the account you just created. Otherwise, the WIS icon on the main screen will be grayed out and cannot be clicked.

If it says the password is incorrect or you get another error, don't worry about it alone—please take a screenshot of the exact error window and upload it. I'll look at the screen and help you resolve it properly! I hope it works out!

I can't check permission. Why is that?

Glad you got logged in! I see your screenshot, and I know exactly what's going on. Trust me, I've set this up a million times. 😉

The checkboxes are grayed out because your EWA-NET server doesn't have a valid StartKey (license) yet. The system locks all user permissions until the software is properly activated.

Here is how you fix it:
  • On the left menu, go to Server -> Edit the access authorization.
  • Find your Current MAC address (LAN-ID) on that page and copy it.
  • Open the license utility (kеуg**) that came in your downloaded package.
  • Paste your MAC address, set the expiration date way into the future (like 2030), and generate the WIS/ASRA StartKey.
  • Go back to EWA-NET, paste that long key into the WIS/ASRA StartKey box, and save it.

Once the server accepts the valid key, go back to that Group editing page. Boom—all those checkboxes will be active and you can assign the rights!

If you don't have the kеуg** or it's giving you a headache, just paste your MAC address (LAN-ID) here. I'll generate the key for you!

Sir, I can press the start key to display WIS again, but I think it's a Java security issue. I looked for a solution, but it doesn't work. What should I do...?

Sir, I can press the Start key to display WIS again, but I think it’s a Java security issue. I looked for a solution, but it didn’t work. What should I do...?

I checked the screenshot carefully! Ah, this is that really annoying Java security error, isn’t it? I had a very hard time with this too when I first set things up. But don’t worry, I’ll tell you the sure solution! 😉

This happens because Java blocks the local application (WIS) whose security signature has expired. You can resolve it right away by simply adding the address to the exception site list in the Java Control Panel. Just trust me and follow the steps below:

  • Press the Windows Start button and type Java Configuration (or Configure Java) in the search box, then open the Control Panel.
  • At the top, go to the Security tab.
  • Near the bottom, click the Edit Site List... button.
  • Add Click the button and enter the location address shown in the screenshot exactly:
    Code:
    http://localhost:9000
  • After entering it, click OK. An HTTP security warning window will appear, but ignore it and click Continue.
  • Finally, click Apply and OK to close the window.

Now completely close and restart your browser, connect to EWA-NET, and click the WIS icon again. This time, instead of the blocking window, a warning window asking whether you want to run it should appear. Check the box labeled 'I accept the risk...' and click Run, and WIS will finally open with a flourish.

Please try it and let me know if it opens properly! You’re almost done with the setup—hang in there! 🛠️💻

Teacher, you succeeded! I was going to copy and paste the page, but I kept asking because it didn't work, but it worked when I typed it It's working normally now Thank you!
Is this program even looking up to a 22-year-old vehicle?

Awesome! I'm so happy to hear that. Sometimes Java is just super stubborn with copy-pasting, but typing it out manually is the classic mechanic's trick. Good job! 😉

To answer your question: Yes! Since this is the 11.2022 release, it covers Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, vans, and trucks manufactured right up to November 2022.

Just a little insider tip from a tech-girl who sets these up all the time: after late 2022, Mercedes completely shifted to their online cloud-based system (WIS 2.0). So, this 11.2022 package is basically the newest and last fully offline database you can get. It is an absolute goldmine for anything 2022 and older!

Just punch in your VIN in the top left corner of WIS, and you'll get all the repair procedures, wiring diagrams, and ASRA labor times for that specific chassis. Have fun wrenching, and let me know if you need help with any other software! 🛠️💅

Teacher I pressed update of the wis database in ewatool and it doesn't work again with the same disp...

Oh no, it broke again after the database update? 🤦‍♀️

Listen, I can't read minds! Even though you said it's the "same display", updating via the EWA Admin Tool can sometimes change the local server address or port (for example, switching from
Code:
http://localhost:9000
to
Code:
http://127.0.0.1:9000
or your computer's specific hostname). Java is incredibly strict, and even a one-letter difference will trigger that security block all over again.

Please attach a fresh screenshot of the new Java error window. I need to see the exact Location (URL) it is trying to block right now.

Us tech-girls don't guess, we look at the data! Upload the pic so I can see exactly what changed, and I'll get you sorted out. 💅🛠️
