The ODIS Service (ODIS-S) 26.0.1 and ODIS Engineering (ODIS-E) 22.0.0 versions represent the very latest generations of official diagnostic and programming software intended for VAG Group vehicles (Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Cupra, Škoda, Bentley, Lamborghini). These dealership-level tools allow in-depth work on onboard electronics.
ODIS Service (ODIS-S) 26.0.1 – Routine Diagnostics & Repair
ODIS-S is the standard software used by workshops and dealerships for day-to-day fault finding.
ODIS Engineering (ODIS-E) 22.0.0 – Programming & Flashing
ODIS-E is the advanced technical version intended for engineers, developers, and automotive tuners. Unlike the Service version, it does not include guided diagnostics but provides direct access to control units.
Compatible Hardware & Interfaces (VCI)
Both software applications are used in conjunction with a hardware interface connected to the vehicle's OBD-II port. The most frequently supported tools include:
ODIS-S is the standard software used by workshops and dealerships for day-to-day fault finding.
- Guided diagnostics: Automatic fault detection and step-by-step fault elimination processes.
- Routine maintenance: Resetting service indicators, brake bleeding, and basic calibrations (sensors, gearboxes).
- Mode Online/Offline : Operates independently for reading fault codes, but requires official access (such as a GeKo account) for advanced online coding operations (key adaptation, component protection removal).
ODIS-E is the advanced technical version intended for engineers, developers, and automotive tuners. Unlike the Service version, it does not include guided diagnostics but provides direct access to control units.
- Firmware update (Flashing): Allows manual injection of .frf, .odx, or .sgo update files into control units.
- Complex coding and adaptations: Manual modification of bytes (Long Coding) to enable hidden options or change a module's behavior.
- Independence from servers: Allows many configurations to be performed offline (Offline) without requiring a permanent connection to the central VAG database.
Both software applications are used in conjunction with a hardware interface connected to the vehicle's OBD-II port. The most frequently supported tools include:
- The official VAS 6154A.
- interface
Reliable clones or alternative hardware such as the VNCI 6154A or the VCX SE.
Standard compatible PassThru (J2534) interfaces (e.g., Scanmatik, Autel J2534).
