Good morning everyone. I am an electronics technician and, while I am just starting out in the world of ECUs, I am currently doing some research. To get started, I’ve purchased an EDC16C39 unit for experimentation, and I’m considering buying a programming tool—specifically, PCMFlash from AliExpress:

I’d like to know if any of you have had positive experiences with it and whether it’s reliable enough for me to work with, given that the original tools are far too expensive.

Thanks. I wanted to understand if this tool is reliable.
What would you recommend? Can I use it for tasks like cloning customer ECUs, or is it just for learning purposes?

The main purpose of PCMflash is reading and writing firmware. Some ECUs can be cloned with it. It's simply impossible to list which ones. Advice on using it can come from people who use similar tools. But ECUs do sometimes get bricked. So you need to have other loaders available as a backup for recovery. And this is very important!!!
For example: yesterday, with Module 51, Lifan, Delphi MT22.5, PCMflash (original), I couldn't read or write it (this rarely happens with the original, although previously other Delphi units were no problem at all), while CombiLoader calmly identified it, read it, and wrote it.
Only hands-on experience will answer the question.
