PSdZData — Full ECU Programming Data Pack for E-Sys

BMW PSdZData v4.55.21 FULL — flash-ready ECU data pack for E-Sys/ISTA; more than Lite.

BMW PSdZData — FULL package for programming & flashing with E-Sys

What it is
PSdZData is the official BMW ECU dataset used by E-Sys/ISTA to code, program and flash modules on F/G/I-series vehicles. The FULL edition contains the complete set of firmware payloads (SWFL/BTLD), CAFD/FAFP, BLP and related metadata required to update control units — not just code them.

Why FULL (vs Lite)
  • FULL: includes firmware files for...

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Windows version is recommended?
For maximum stability during ECU flashing and diagnostics, a clean installation of Windows 10 (64-bit) is recommended.
Is it compatible with J2534 PassThru?
Most modern software versions support standard J2534 interfaces like Scanmatik 2 Pro, OpenPort 2.0, and specific VCI adapters.

Bin updated PSdZData — Full ECU Programming Data Pack for E-Sys with a new update entry:

PSdZData Lite — Add-on for the Full package (F/G/I-series coding)

PSdZData Lite v4.55.30 — what’s new
  • Latest 2025 PSdZ data refresh with extended coverage for recent F/G/I-series platforms.
  • Updated CAFD/FAFP metadata and mappings for smoother FDL coding workflows.
  • Optimized package structure for faster indexing and lower disk footprint.
  • General stability tweaks and minor clean-ups.

About the Lite package
  • Intended for FDL coding only. Flash files (SWFL/BTLD/IBAD) are not included.

Good job, thank you so much!

Glad it's useful!

Just a quick tip for those new to this: make sure you extract the content correctly so E-Sys can find it. The folder structure should look like this in your installation directory (usually C:\Data):

Code:
C:\Data\psdzdata\mainseries\
C:\Data\psdzdata\swe\
...

Also, a reminder on which version to grab:
  • Lite Version: Sufficient for all coding tasks (VO/FDL).
  • Full Version: Only needed for flashing modules (firmware updates).

If you encounter "Trimmed" CAFD files, ensure your launcher mapping is up to date for v4.55.21.

Bin updated PSdZData — Full ECU Programming Data Pack for E-Sys with a new update entry:

PSdZData 4.57.30 Release: Full & Lite Packs, BMW E-Sys/ISTA 2026

PSdZData 4.57.30 is now available in two variants: Full and Lite.

Choose your package:
  • Full — complete dataset (recommended for programming/flashing scenarios).
  • Lite — reduced size (recommended for coding/common use where Full isn’t required).

I am trying to download this to use with ISTA. The goal is to disable the adaptive mode for my headlights on my 2014 528i. would using lite for coding work or will I have to download the full?

For what you are trying to do, PSdZData Lite is perfectly sufficient.

The difference is simple:
  • Lite: Contains all the CAFD files needed for Coding (changing settings, enabling/disabling features like your adaptive headlights).
  • Full: Contains the actual firmware files (swfl, etc.) needed for Flashing (updating the ECU software version).

Since you are looking to disable a feature (which is either VO Coding or FDL Coding), you do not need the massive Full download.

Note: While you mentioned ISTA, E-Sys is generally the preferred tool for disabling specific options or custom coding.

One more question. Sorry I am new to this. Will I just be downloading file 4.55.30 or do I need to download all the other versions as well?

No need to apologize!

You only need to download the latest version available.

You do not need the previous versions. The PSdZData folder is a complete replacement, not an incremental раtсh that stacks on top of older files.

Steps:
  1. Delete your existing C:\Data\psdzdata folder (or rename it to psdzdata_old as a backup).
  2. Extract the contents of the single new version you downloaded.
  3. Place the new files into C:\Data\psdzdata.

This ensures you have the cleanest setup for coding.

You're welcome! Good luck with the coding on your F10. Let us know if you get stuck.
I was unable to find the BMW.RAR file as stated in step 3. Also, is setting the parameters in step 7 necessary? After hitting any key the window closed. I did try to open ista without doing these steps and nothing happens. Thanks

It sounds like you are following an installation guide for a specific ISTA Standalone package (likely a rераск by Sedoy or similar), but you might be mixing up the files.

The download in this specific thread is for PSdZData (ECU Data). This is just the raw data used by E-Sys (and ISTA for programming), but it is not the ISTA program installer itself.

  • BMW.RAR: This file is usually part of the ISTA program download (the application), not the PSdZData pack. If you only downloaded the files from this thread, you won't find it.
  • Step 7 / Window Closing: If you are running a "Prerequisites" or "Registry Fix" script and it closes immediately, it usually means it ran successfully or failed silently.

Regarding ISTA not opening:
If you click the icon and absolutely nothing happens (no splash screen, no error), it is almost 100% caused by missing Microsoft dependencies.

Please ensure you have installed:
  • Visual C++ Redistributables: You need both x86 and x64 versions for 2015-2022. I recommend searching for "Visual C++ Redistributable Runtimes All-in-One" and installing that.
  • .NET Framework 4.6 or higher (usually 4.8).

If you are trying to install ISTA from scratch, you need to find the full ISTA+ (Rheingold) download link first, install that, and then use the PSdZData from this thread if you need to update the programming data.

Ok that make sense. I'm asking about ista on the incorrect feed. But your response on c++ and net framework i forgot to do. thanks

No worries. It happens to the best of us.

Once you get those Visual C++ Runtimes installed, give the PC a reboot. That usually solves the "click and nothing happens" issue instantly.

Good luck getting it running!
