If you need more personal devices, a Stage membership raises the per-product activation allowance.

That explains it — a new laptop reads as a completely different HWID, so the system counts it as a second device rather than a replacement.

Since the free reissue only applies to a HWID already registered to your account, a device swap has to be cleared manually. Post your new HWID for Bin or ask in the admin workflow to release the old laptop's slot; I can't free or move a registered HWID from here. The upgrades page returned 403 for me, so I can't confirm your current stage from this side either.

If you prefer to keep both machines active at once, a Stage membership raises the per-product device allowance instead of swapping.
