Description

NCD Check Control Editor is a BMW coding utility for editing Check Control message configuration directly in NCD files.

The program analyzes the selected NCD, identifies the Check Control activation groups and maps individual CC-ID messages to their corresponding byte and bit positions.

Instead of manually searching through CAFD parameters or calculating the required bit inside CC_AKTIVIERUNG blocks, messages can be enabled, disabled or reverted directly from the list.

BMW NCD Check Control Editor for enabling and disabling CC-ID warning messages

What is it used for?

BMW Check Control uses CC-ID messages for warnings and vehicle-status notifications shown in the instrument cluster and iDrive.

NCD Check Control Editor provides a more direct way to inspect and modify which supported Check Control messages are active in a coded NCD file.

Main functions
  • Open and analyze BMW .ncd files.
  • Automatically detect Check Control activation groups.
  • Display CC-ID, module, message text, group, byte and bit.
  • Show whether each known Check Control message is currently active.
  • Enable individual CC-ID messages.
  • Disable individual CC-ID messages.
  • Revert edited entries to their original state.
  • Search the Check Control message database.
  • Filter known, unknown or disabled entries.
  • Jump directly to a specific CC-ID.
  • Show modified bytes and pending changes before saving.

Automatic CC-ID mapping

The editor works with Check Control activation parameters such as:

Code:
CC_AKTIVIERUNG_1
CC_AKTIVIERUNG_2
CC_AKTIVIERUNG_3
...

Each activation group contains multiple bits corresponding to individual Check Control IDs.

The software handles this mapping automatically and presents the result as readable CC-ID entries instead of requiring manual byte/bit editing.

Check Control message database

One of the main advantages of the tool is its built-in database of BMW Check Control messages.

Known CC-IDs are displayed with their associated module and human-readable message, for example:
  • DSC warnings
  • DME / DDE engine messages
  • CAS notifications
  • EMF parking-brake messages
  • EHC suspension warnings
  • MRS restraint-system messages

This makes it much easier to identify the correct CC-ID before changing its activation state.

Editing workflow
  1. Open the required BMW NCD file.
  2. Search or filter for the desired Check Control message.
  3. Select the CC-ID.
  4. Choose Enable, Disable or Revert.
  5. Review the indicated byte / bit and pending changes.
  6. Save the edited NCD file.

The interface also shows the original activation-group values and marks groups that have been changed.

Important

This tool modifies coding data inside BMW NCD files. Always keep an untouched backup of the original NCD before saving any changes.

The available Check Control entries depend on the CAFD / NCD structure being edited. Disabling a warning message does not repair the underlying vehicle fault that caused the warning.
