I installed this but my splash screen says version S3V11-F. I try to connect to heater that seems to be slightly newer than the list suggests so version S4V1-F could possibly work if i get my hands on it. I don't know if there is update i should do, but couldn't figure out anything wrong with installation that i have. My folders also suggests it should be S4V1-F. Am I missing something?

Hi,

this is quite a common issue with EDiTH, so don't worry, you're not alone.

What is probably happening

A splash screen showing S3V11-F instead of S4V1-F usually means one of these things:

  • The old version was not cleanly uninstalled — if you previously had an older EDiTH installed, the new installation may have overwritten only some files, while the main executable or configuration file remained old. EDiTH retrieves the version from an internal config/ini file or directly from the exe.
  • Spúšťaš nesprávny .exe — check whether you have two EDiTH folders on your system (e.g. an old one in Program Files and a new one somewhere else). Your desktop shortcut may be pointing to the old path.
  • Incomplete archive extraction — if the archive required a password and something did not extract properly, only some files may have been overwritten.

What to try

  1. Completely uninstall any existing EDiTH version via Control Panel / Programs.
  2. Manually delete the installation folder (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Eberspaecher\EDiTH\ or similar) — make sure no old files are left there.
  3. Extract the archive again with the password binunlock.com (the author confirmed an updated link above, so use the latest one).
  4. Reinstall and, before launching it, check the properties of the main .exe file — right-click → Properties → Details — you should see the version there.
  5. Run it as administrator (right-click → Run as administrator).

Checking the version in the folder

If your folders indicate S4V1-F but the splash screen shows S3V11-F, check:

  • The date and size of the main .exe file — does it match what was in the archive?
  • Whether you have a EDiTH.ini or config file somewhere that retains an old version reference.

As for compatibility with a newer heater — yes, S4V1-F has expanded support compared with S3V11-F, so if you have a newer Airtronic/Hydronic model, upgrading to the correct version could help with the connection.

Let us know what it shows after a clean reinstall. 👍
