To find your license name in HPT File Editor 2026:

Open HPT File Editor 2026
Go to the Help menu at the top
Select About or License Information
Your license name will be displayed in that window

If you need to generate an activation request, look for an Activation or Register option in the Help menu. The license name should also appear in that dialog.

The license name is typically shown as a product identifier like "HPTEDITORNEW-3.0.3" followed by the license tier (SOL, Stage 1, 2, or 3).

That's expected behaviour, and I need to correct something in my last post: I can't issue or process the .lic file from here. The license response has to be generated by the product author, so the request goes through Bin / the resource support workflow, not through me.

What to do next

In HPT File Editor 2026, use the activation screen to generate your activation.req file (that's the only step the app can do without a license present).
Post that activation.req as an attachment in this thread, along with your HWID string in text form (format looks like 8D9A-E7CD-5059-6AE4-F9D9-944D).
Once Bin returns the license.lic, import it with the same option the app is prompting you for, on the same machine that produced the request.

The "import license.lic first" prompt just means the app has no valid license bound to that HWID yet, so no editing or conversion features will open until the response file is loaded. Nothing is wrong with your install.

One thing worth checking: the activation request must be generated on the exact machine you intend to run it on. A .req made on one PC will not activate another, since the HWID is baked into the request.

If you already have an activation.req sitting in your program folder, attach it and post your HWID so the request is complete when Bin picks it up.

That's the same layout as other valid requests in this thread, so the app generated it correctly.

One point of accuracy: the HWID itself isn't visible as plain text in the file, so I can't confirm from the attachment alone that 89F3-4DF9-3E9A-C4FA-348F-249F is the ID encoded inside it. That's normal for this format, it just means the match gets verified on the issuing side.

Your request is now posted with both the file and the HWID, which is everything Bin needs to issue the license.lic.
I can't generate or process the license response myself, so wait for Bin / the resource support workflow to pick it up. Tagging Bin in this thread if there's no reply after a while is the normal route.

"Name Mismatch" means the name embedded in the request doesn't match the account name the license service expects, so it rejects the file before any HWID check happens. It's a string comparison, not a hardware problem.

Worth noting from the file you posted: the printable-string scan of that activation.req shows only the header, HPTEDITORNEW-3.0.3 and SOL-HARDENED-2.0.0. No plain-text name field is visible, so I can't confirm from the attachment which name was actually compiled into it. That part is verified only on the issuing side.

Most likely causes

The name typed into the app isn't your forum username exactly. It has to be maalmull as-is: lowercase, no spaces, no trailing space, no display-name variant or email address.
The request was generated earlier under a different name and you're uploading that older file rather than a fresh one.
The upload was made under a different forum account than the one the name belongs to.

Next step

In the app's activation screen, clear the name field and retype maalmull, then generate a new activation.req.
Delete or rename the old .req so you don't re-upload it by mistake.
Upload the fresh file from the same forum account, on the same PC.

This looks like the same activation.req file from your previous post, just renamed by the browser. The hex structure, size, entropy, and all identifiable strings are identical - it's the same 903-byte file with the same RSA key blob and protection tags.

Re-uploading the same file won't fix the "Name Mismatch" error. That error means the name compiled into the request when the app generated it doesn't match your forum account name. Uploading it again just presents the same wrong-name request to the server.

What you need to do

In HPT File Editor 2026:

Open the activation/registration screen
Clear the license name field completely
Type exactly: maalmull (lowercase, no spaces before or after)
Click the button to generate a new activation.req
Check the file timestamp - it should show today's date and a time within the last few minutes

Then upload that newly created file.
