To "change" the VIN on a used module, you generally don't edit the VIN manually. Instead, you need to run the Configure New Module procedure within SDD (usually found under the Service Functions or Extras tab).

Even though the module is used, you should treat it as a "New Module" in the software. SDD will re-flash the firmware and write your vehicle's correct VIN to the module during the configuration process.

Since this resource includes the Service Access tools, you will be able to generate the required Seed/Key codes if SDD asks for security clearance to overwrite the used module's data.

Important: Make sure you have a stable power supply (battery support unit) connected to the vehicle while programming, as a voltage drop can brick the module.
