Thanks for suggestion. If you are getting the "Date turned back" error or similar time-related issues, simply reinstalling the software will not help. WinOLS leaves hidden configuration files and registry keys behind that track the installation history to prevent exactly what you are trying to do.
You need to perform a clean removal before installing again. Please follow these steps:
- Uninstall WinOLS normally.
- Navigate to the following folder (you may need to enable "Show hidden items" in Windows Explorer) and delete the entire EVC folder:
Code:C:\ProgramData\EVC- Also check and delete this folder if it exists:
Code:C:\Users\Public\Documents\EVC- Open the Registry Editor (press Win+R, type
regedit), navigate to this path, and delete the EVC key:
Code:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\EVC
After clearing these specific locations, restart your computer and install version 4.70.01 again. Always run the loader/shortcut as Administrator.
For me the program only works with internet disconnected now (on W10 LTSC IoT).
I will try to remove all leftovers and reinstall cleanly, Revo uninstaller helps with that.
Even though I blocked inbound/outbound to all executives in EVC folder, I forgot to set real time scan exclusions for that folder and files.
After few days and restarts windows defender messed up ols.exe
Now with the internet connected it says "Your system date is wrong. Please correct it and restart WinOLS."

Yeah, that lines up with what you found. If Defender quarantined or partially cleaned ols.exe, the раtсh gets reverted and you're back to the date/license check kicking in with internet on. That's why it only runs offline now.
Clean approach:
- Do the full removal with Revo, then delete leftover
C:\ProgramData\EVCand any EVC folder under your user profile as you planned. - Before reinstalling, add the install folder to Defender exclusions (both folder and process):
C:\Program Files (x86)\EVC. Set it under Virus & threat protection → Manage settings → Exclusions. - Reinstall, run the раtсh step, then re-add your outbound firewall blocks for
ols.exeandolslaunch.exe.
The key point is the exclusion has to be in place before the раtсh runs, otherwise Defender can grab the patched exe on the next scan and you're back to square one.
If it still throws the date error after a clean reinstall with exclusions set, tell me your exact WinOLS build and whether the раtсh step reported success, and I'll help narrow it down.
