xDecoder 14.0 Update#
xDecoder has been updated to version
14.0 with support for additional Bosch, Continental, Delphi, Siemens and Visteon ECU families used by BMW, Ford, Iveco, VAG, PSA, Renault, Nissan and Dacia vehicles.
The latest release adds support for
Delphi DCM6.1 used by Ford and includes all ECU modules introduced between versions
12.8 and 14.0.
Install version 14.0 into a new clean folder. Do not mix its files with an older xDecoder installation.

Siemens SID803 note: The modification is applied to the
MPC file only, but both the
MPC and
external flash files must be supplied for complete decoding and correct file analysis.
Bosch MD1CS069 note: Support is included, but additional original files are still useful for broader testing and compatibility verification.
Package Contents#
The version 14.0 archive contains:
- START-xDecoder.exe — launcher used to start the program
- Decoder.exe — main xDecoder application component
- runtime_patcher.dll — runtime component required by the current build
- new_modulus.bin — application data file
- old_modulus.bin — application data file
Keep all included files together in the same folder. Do not rename, move or delete individual components.
Always launch the program through START-xDecoder.exe. Do not run Decoder.exe directly.
Clean Installation#
- Close xDecoder if an older version is currently running.
- Create a new separate folder, for example
C:\xDecoder.
- Fully extract the version 14.0 archive into this folder.
- Do not launch the application directly from the ZIP or RAR archive.
- Do not copy version 14.0 over an existing older xDecoder folder.
- Confirm that all five package files are present in the extracted directory.
- Run START-xDecoder.exe.
Using a fresh folder prevents old DLL, data or launcher files from interfering with the new build.
License Activation#
Activation requests are processed in the
Discussion thread of this resource.
- Extract the complete version 14.0 package.
- Run START-xDecoder.exe.
- If the activation window appears, copy the displayed 16-character Hardware Identifier.
- Post your HWID in the Discussion thread of this resource. A screenshot of the Hardware Identifier window may also be attached.
- Wait until a personal registry license file is issued for your HWID.
- Close xDecoder before installing the license.
- Download the supplied .reg file. Its filename will be different for every user because it is generated for the submitted HWID.
- Double-click the received .reg file and confirm that its data may be added to the Windows Registry.
- Return to the extracted program folder and launch START-xDecoder.exe again.
A license filename may look similar to:
ACE17FF985AF9Axx.reg
This is only an example. Your file will have a different name corresponding to your own hardware identifier.
Use only the registry license supplied for your HWID through the official resource discussion. A license created for another computer will not activate your installation.
If the Hardware Identifier window appears again after installing the registry file, post a screenshot together with the newly displayed 16-character HWID in the discussion thread.
Working Safely with BIN Files#
- Keep the original ECU BIN in a separate backup location.
- Never perform modifications on the only available copy of a file.
- Create a working copy and remove the Read-only attribute if it is enabled.
- Open only the working copy in xDecoder.
- Confirm that the detected manufacturer, ECU hardware and software information match the loaded file.
- Review the detected DTC list before applying any modification.
- Save the processed result under a new and clearly identifiable filename.
- Do not overwrite the original ECU read.
- Verify the modified file and its checksums before programming.
Important Notes#
- Do not disable the complete antivirus or Windows security system.
- If a package component is blocked or quarantined, stop and report the exact detection in the Discussion thread before proceeding.
- Do not download replacement DLL or executable files from unrelated websites.
- A detected DTC should not be removed before the actual electrical, mechanical or software-related cause has been diagnosed.
- Do not flash an unverified test file into a vehicle.
- Always use a stable power supply and a compatible ECU programming tool.
- The user is responsible for verifying file compatibility and complying with applicable emissions and vehicle regulations.
