If you have already fixed the registry and ensured that the file has content (1kb), but the error still appears, the most likely explanation is that the activator is "hardcoded" (fixed-programmed) to look for an old folder structure.

New versions use the Drumroll folder, but many old or reused activators look for the Client folder.

Please do this "mirror trick" to fool the activator:

1. Go to C:\ProgramData\Detroit Diesel\

That "Server registration is expired" message is normal during installation. It pops up because the installer tries to connect to Detroit's servers which obviously won't work.

Here's how to get past it:

Do NOT try to register. Simply click Cancel or Skip on that registration window. If there is no Skip button, try clicking the X to close it. The installation should continue normally after that.

If it won't let you close or skip the window, try this:

Disconnect your PC completely from the internet (unplug ethernet or disable WiFi) BEFORE starting the installation.
Uninstall what you have so far using Revo Uninstaller to clean up registry leftovers.
Restart your PC.
Run the installer again with internet disconnected.

Without internet, the installer cannot attempt server registration and will either skip that step automatically or let you bypass it.

Important notes about your instructions:

You mentioned DDDL 8.13 but the instructions reference installing 8.09 first (Step 02) and then patching it (Step 03). Make sure you are following the correct order — install 8.09 base first, then apply the patch, then the kеуg** process.
Make sure all 5 files from Step 10 are present in your kеуg** folder BEFORE copying them. If any file is missing, Windows Defender likely quarantined it. Check your Defender protection history.
Steps 05 through 09 must be done in exact order. The HWID from GetHwid.exe feeds into K4K.exe, which generates KG.key, which then feeds into kеуg**.exe to produce dddl.db.

Thanks I will try this again. The folder names I also got confused with it because when I extracted the rar files that where the folders were created and extracted too.
