Hello everyone, I managed to download and launch the software, but it can't find a code on the RNS 510. I've tried on 2 different ones.
Maybe I only need to enter part of the car radio's serial number? Or any other ideas?

For RNS 510 units, offline code calculators based on the serial number almost never work. The RNS 510 uses different protection from older VAG car radios.

To obtain the correct code for an RNS 510, you need to read the unit's internal memory. Here is what you need to know:

The RNS 510 generally uses a 24C32 or 24C64 EEPROM (depending on the hardware version)
You need to open the unit, locate the EEPROM chip on the motherboard, and read it with a programmer (for example XPROG, UPA, Orange5, or even a simple CH341A with an SOIC8 clip)
Once you have the .bin dump, the 4-digit PIN code is located directly in the file

What needs to be done:

Open the RNS 510
Locate the EEPROM chip (small 8-pin chip, often marked 24C32 or 24C64)
Read it with a programmer + SOIC8 clip
Post the .bin file here in an ZIP/RAR

Yes, many sites offer serial-number decoding for the RNS 510, but in the vast majority of cases it does not work. These sites use generic algorithms that do not match the RNS 510 protection method.

Reading the EEPROM remains the 100% reliable method.

You mentioned above that you have small clips for reading EEPROMs. If it is a SOIC8 clip, that is exactly what you need.

What you need:

A programmer (CH341A, UPA, XPROG, Orange5, etc.)
A SOIC8 clip (which you apparently already have)
The software corresponding to the programmer

Procedure:

Open the RNS 510 housing (usually Torx screws)
Locate the 24C32 or 24C64 EEPROM chip (8-pin chip on the motherboard)
Place the SOIC8 clip on the chip — without desoldering
Read it with the programmer, selecting the correct chip type (24C32 or 24C64)

No problem, you have several options:

Cheapest solution:

A CH341A + SOIC8 clip kit can be found on AliExpress or Amazon for around €5-10. It's a small investment that will be useful for both RNS 510 units and other car radios in the future. The software is free (AsProgrammer or CH341A Programmer).

Alternatively, without equipment:

Go to an auto electrician or car radio specialist near you — EEPROM reading + code extraction generally costs between €15 and €30.
Go through a VW dealership with the vehicle registration document — they can retrieve the code via the VIN number, but it is often more expensive.

My advice:

Order the CH341A + SOIC8 clip kit; it is the most economical solution, especially since you have 2 RNS 510 units to decode. Once the equipment arrives, the procedure takes 10 minutes per unit.
