I managed to install it in a Windows 11 VM for testing, but it’s not 50 GB free that you need...

The error in your screenshot is:

"Unable to load the DLL 'api64.dll' - The specified module could not be found (HRESULT: 0x8007007E)"

This is a very common problem with ISTA. Here is how to fix it:

1. Install ALL Visual C++ Redistributables
This is the main cause in 80% of cases. You need to install the x86 AND x64 versions from 2005 through 2022. Search for "Visual C++ Redistributable AIO pack" — install everything and restart.

2. Controlla se l'antivirus ha cancellato api64.dll
Go to the ISTA installation folder (e.g. C:\ISTA\bin or similar) and look for the api64.dll file. If it is not there, your antivirus quarantined it during installation.
→ Disable your antivirus, add an exception for the ISTA folder, and reinstall.

3. Installa/Ripara .NET Framework
ISTA requires at least .NET Framework 4.8. Go to Control Panel → Programs → Attiva/Disattiva Windows features → make sure that .NET 3.5 and .NET 4.8+ are enabled.

4. Run ISTA as Administrator
Right-click → Run as administrator.

Note on disk space (as confirmed by the other user):
You need about 400 GB free for the full installation (temporary extraction + final installation). With 300 GB, it may not be enough. Installation can take about 2 hours.

Start with steps 1 and 2 — in most cases, that solves the problem. :)
