Your request was recognized, but this activation extends beyond the allowance assigned to the account.

Current usage: 1 registered personal HWID for xDecoder 14.0, with an account allowance of 1.
This request: 1 new distinct HWID. Available slots before this request: 0.

Reissuing a license for any HWID already registered to your forum account remains free and does not consume another slot.

Partner/community limits are counted separately per product: Registered 1 HWID, Stage 1 2 HWIDs, Stage 2 3 HWIDs, and Stage 3 4 HWIDs. Stage changes the device allowance only; the product author controls its license term.

If you need more personal devices, a Stage membership raises the per-product activation allowance.

I recognized the requested activation, although the remaining account allowance cannot accommodate it.

Hi Gemini,

After upgrading my operating system from Windows 10 to Windows 11, I started experiencing a serious issue with xDecoder 14.0. Whenever I select a BIN file, my entire computer shuts down immediately. The application itself does not simply crash; instead, the computer powers off completely.

In an attempt to resolve this issue, I used a PowerShell command to disable the shutdown behavior. However, this led to additional problems. Following the Windows 11 upgrade, I also started experiencing license errors with the following applications:

  • ECU Tuning Solutions for ECU File Processing and DTC Handling 1.02
  • xDecoder 14.0
  • ECUMaster IMMO and ECU Service Toolkit 1.0.4
Could you please help me identify and resolve these issues?

I would particularly appreciate confirmation of whether xDecoder 14.0 is fully compatible with Windows 11 and whether its stable operation on this operating system has been tested. I have also noticed that another user has reported a similar issue with xDecoder 14.0 causing the computer to shut down, so I would like to know whether this is a known compatibility problem.

Given that these licensing issues started immediately after upgrading to Windows 11, despite the software previously working correctly, I would kindly ask you to consider reissuing or resetting my license keys for the affected applications. Since these problems appear to be related to the operating system upgrade rather than any intentional changes on my part, I would greatly appreciate your assistance in restoring my access without requiring me to purchase new licenses.

Unfortunately, the Windows 11 upgrade has caused serious problems with software that was previously working correctly on my system. I would be grateful for your technical assistance in resolving both the unexpected system shutdown and the licensing errors.

Thank you for your time, attention, and support. I hope you can help me restore the software to normal working condition and resolve these issues without additional licensing costs.

I look forward to your response.

Best regards,

Hi Gemini,

After upgrading my operating system from Windows 10 to Windows 11, I started experiencin...

Hi,

The first thing to settle is whether the shutdown is software-initiated or a power/hardware event, because those have completely different fixes. Do this before anything else:

  • Reproduce the shutdown, boot back up, open Event Viewer → Windows Logs → System.
  • Look for User32, Event ID 1074 (a process requested the shutdown — it names the executable) versus Kernel-Power, Event ID 41 with no preceding 1074 (unexpected power loss: PSU, VRM, thermal, or a driver-level crash).
  • Also check for WHEA-Logger and BugCheck entries in the same timeframe.

If you see 41 without 1074, this is not an application doing it — a user-mode tool cannot cut power to the machine. In that case the BIN load is just the moment of peak CPU/disk load exposing a marginal PSU or thermal issue, and the Windows 11 upgrade (new power management, new chipset/storage drivers) is the trigger rather than xDecoder. If you see 1074 naming a process, post that line and we have the culprit.

On the PowerShell command you used to "disable the shutdown behavior": please post the exact command. Depending on what it changed (shutdown privileges, a service, power policy, or a scheduled task) it may now be causing side effects of its own, and that needs to be reverted before any further diagnosis is meaningful.

On the license errors across all three tools — that pattern is expected rather than mysterious. A major OS upgrade can change the values these tools hash into the machine fingerprint, so the HWID they report after the upgrade is often different from the one registered. Three different products failing at the same moment points to exactly that, not to three separate licensing faults.

What that means for your licenses
  • Reissuing against an HWID already registered to your account is free and does not consume a slot.
  • If the HWID has genuinely changed, it counts as a new distinct HWID and needs a slot or an admin-side reset. That is not something I can execute from this reply — open it with Bin / admin here, listing the three products and both the old and new HWID.

Facts vs. inference: the resource page lists the platform only as "Windows" — I have no tested-and-confirmed Windows 11 compatibility statement for 14.0 to give you, so I won't claim one. Another user in this thread did report a shutdown on BIN selection, but no root cause was established there either, so "known compatibility problem" is not confirmed — two reports without logs.

Worth ruling out cheaply while you gather the logs:
  • Install 14.0 into a new clean folder, not over an older xDecoder installation (per the 14.0 release notes).
  • Add that folder to Defender/AV exclusions and run the exe as administrator.
  • Test with a small known-good BIN on a different drive, to separate "any BIN" from "that specific file or storage path".

To go further I need:
  • The current HWID each of the three tools reports now, and the one previously registered.
  • Windows 11 build (winver).
  • The Event Viewer entries described above (screenshot is fine).
  • The exact PowerShell command you ran.
  • The exact license error text per application.

Thanks for explaining — an OS reinstall changing the fingerprint is a common and legitimate reason for a HWID shift, but adjusting or clearing the registered HWID on your account isn't something this reply can do. That decision sits with Bin / the product author.

Post your request to Bin directly (or in the admin workflow for license issues) with:

  • Forum username and the product: xDecoder 14.0
  • The old registered HWID (the one issued under Windows 11, if you still have it)
  • The new HWID: 8A3B3617DAC13B9F
  • A one-line note that the change was caused by a Windows 11 → Windows 10 reinstall on the same laptop, not a second machine

Two things worth keeping in mind for next time: reissuing against a HWID already registered to your account is free and doesn't consume a slot, so if the machine ever reports the old ID again you're covered. And a Stage membership raises the per-product device allowance (Stage 1 = 2 HWIDs, Stage 2 = 3, Stage 3 = 4), which is the usual fix if you expect further OS changes or need a second laptop.
