On this Hyundai 3.0 i-CRDi power-unit, Stage 1 mapping widens the usable torque plateau while keeping factory refinement. DPF regeneration and EGR flow are fully disabled to cut exhaust back-pressure and maintain a clean intake. Torque, boost and smoke limiters are rescaled with safe air–fuel targets, ensuring the automatic transmission stays within clutch capacity even when towing. Cold-start, idle and part-throttle maps are refined so highway economy matches stock, yet boost arrives a full 300 rpm earlier for brisk overtakes.
