If you are searching for a file named BMW.rar inside the download folder, it likely does not exist in this version.

Most modern Standalone versions (like 4.57.30) do not use a nested BMW.rar anymore. They extract directly into the final folder structure (usually C:\ISTA or C:\Rheingold).

The missing DLL files (RheingoldCore.dll and BMW.Rheingold.CoreFramework.dll) are not hidden inside a missing RAR file. They were physically present in the folder when you extracted it, but your Antivirus deleted them immediately.

The Solution:
You do not need to find a BMW.rar. You need to recover the files your Antivirus ate.

1. Open Windows Security (Defender).
2. Go to Virus & threat protection -> Protection history.
3. Look for "Threat Blocked" or "Quarantined" items labeled as Trojan:Win32/Vigorf.A or similar.
4. Click the arrow next to them and select Restore.

Once you restore them, the files will reappear in TesterGUI\bin\Release, and ISTA will start.

Note: You must add the entire C:\ISTA folder to your Antivirus Exclusions list, or it will just delete them again the next time you run a scan.

Hi,
is it possible that the BMW.rar (3. of the Installation) is missing?

Yes, it is very likely.

Many installation guides included with these downloads are copy-pasted from older versions (like 4.32). In those older versions, there was a nested file named BMW.rar or Rheingold.7z inside the main download that you had to extract manually as "Step 3".

In the newer Standalone versions (like 4.57.30), the structure has been simplified. The main download often extracts directly into the final folder structure.

What to check:
Look inside the folder you just extracted. Do you see a folder named Rheingold?

  • If YES: You already have the files. You can skip "Step 3" completely. The Rheingold folder *is* the content that used to be in BMW.rar.
  • If NO: Check if there is a file named Rheingold.7z or ISTA_v4.xx.7z. If so, extract that instead.

Summary:
If you see the Rheingold folder, you are done with extraction. Proceed to the next step (usually running RCleaner or ISTAGUI). You do not need to find a file specifically named BMW.rar.

There is no Rheingold folder, 7z or Ista v4.

If you do not see a Rheingold folder, a .7z archive, or an executable file, then you have not downloaded the ISTA program yet. You likely only downloaded the Data files (SDP or BLP), or the download was incomplete.

Please check the filenames of the files you actually downloaded.

A complete Standalone package usually consists of:
1. Program File: Often named ISTA_v4.57.30.7z or Standalone_4.57.30.rar. (This contains the Rheingold folder).
2. Data Files: BLP_4.57.30.7z and SDP_4.57.30.7z.

If you only see files like:
  • psdzdata
  • data
  • SDP
  • BLP
  • FASTA

Then you have only downloaded the database files. You are missing the main software.

Solution:
Go back to the download source (the first post). You need to find the link specifically labeled "Program", "Standalone", or "ISTA+ Application". It is usually the smallest of the large files (around 15GB-20GB uncompressed, or smaller if compressed).

Once you download and extract *that* specific file, the Rheingold folder will appear.

Where can I get a older ista? Like 4.32?

You can usually find older versions like 4.32.15 (which is the most popular older release) in the same repository as the current download.

1. Check the Main Link: Open the MEGA or Google Drive link from the first post again. Look for a folder named Old Versions, Archive, or Previous Releases.
2. Search the Forum: If it is not in the main link, use the forum search bar for "ISTA 4.32.15". This specific version is very common because it was the last version to use a simple .exe installer instead of the current copy-paste method.

Why choose 4.32?
It is much easier to install and supports older laptops (Windows 7/8) better than the 4.5x versions. If you are struggling with the manual file placement of 4.57, finding a 4.32 installer is a good solution.

4.57.30 doesn't have a self installer? The download says 4.57.30 standalone

Correct. Modern "Standalone" versions of ISTA+ (specifically versions 4.39 and newer) do not use a traditional setup.exe or installation wizard.

In the context of BMW diagnostics, "Standalone" now means "Pre-installed and Portable". The software has already been installed and cracked by the developer; you just need to place the files in the correct spot.

Here is the standard installation procedure for 4.57.30 Standalone:

  1. Extract: Unzip the entire archive to the root of your drive (e.g., C:\Rheingold or C:\ISTA). Do not nest it in deep folders (like C:\Users\Name\Downloads\ISTA\Rheingold).
  2. Prerequisites: Go to the Tools or Prereqs folder inside the download and install all the Visual C++ Redistributables (x86 and x64) and .NET Framework files.
  3. Registry Fix: This is the most important step. Find a file named ISTARegFix.reg, Registration.reg, or similar in the main folder. Double-click it to add the necessary keys to your Windows Registry. This replaces the "installer" process.
  4. Run: Launch ISTAGUI.exe from C:\Rheingold\TesterGUI\bin\Release.

If you are looking for a "Next > Next > Finish" installer, you would need to find an older version (like 4.32.15) or a specific "MSI Installer" rера**, which is rare for the newest versions.

So many missing files. Tools folder is missing and no registry fix files
Probably should remove the download link. If others are able to download and haven't had any problems, please post a reply.

Probably should remove the ...

It is highly probable that you have downloaded the Data files instead of the Program files. The download link usually leads to a folder containing multiple archives, and you must download the correct one to get the executable software.

If you are missing the Tools folder and the .reg files, you likely downloaded the BLP (Basic Logistics Package) or SDP (Service Data Package). These archives contain only the databases required for diagnostics and programming, not the software itself.

Please check the filename of the archive you downloaded:

  • BLP_4.57.30.7z = Database only (No program, no tools, no reg fix).
  • SDP_4.57.30.7z = Programming Data only (No program).
  • ISTA_v4.57.30.7z (or similar) = This is the correct file. It contains the Program, Tools, and Registry Fix.

Go back to the download location and ensure you grab the archive labeled ISTA, Program, or Standalone. Once you extract that specific file, you will find the Tools folder and the ISTARegFix.reg file you are looking for.

That mаgn** link points to the standard "Sedoy" release. The download is not broken, but it is not ready to run immediately after the tоrren* finishes.

The tоrren* downloads a folder containing compressed archives (usually .7z files). You cannot run the program until you extract the correct archive.

  • Open the folder you just downloaded via the mаgn** link.
  • Look for a large file named something like ISTA_v4.57.30.7z (it is usually the largest file, or around 15GB).
  • You must extract this specific file using 7-Zip (Right-click -> 7-Zip -> Extract Here).

The Tools folder, the Rheingold folder, and the Registry Fix files are all hidden inside that ISTA_v4.57.30.7z archive. They are not loose in the main download folder.

Check your tоrren* Client:
If you do not see the ISTA_v4.57.30.7z file in your download folder, open your tоrren* Client (uTorrent/qBittorrent) and check the "Files" tab for that download. Ensure you did not accidentally uncheck the main program file (it is possible you only downloaded the BLP/SDP data files by mistake).

Thanks for the link

You're welcome!

Just a quick tip to ensure the installation goes smoothly:
  • Make sure to use 7-Zip to extract the files. The built-in Windows extractor often fails or reports errors with these large archives.
  • Before extracting, right-click the downloaded .7z/.rar file, select Properties, and check the Unblock box (if it appears) at the bottom right.
This prevents the most common "access denied" or "missing file" errors during installation.
