Genericode is a professional locksmith reference and code-retrieval system for turning an authorized key code, partial cut information or known blank into practical cutting data. It combines automotive, motorcycle, utility, padlock and general code databases with key-blank cross references, depth-and-space specifications, progression tools and machine-oriented output. The supplied interface shows cuts, spaces, depths, keyway profile, blank choices and cutting controls in one job view.
This is reference and workflow software, not a transponder programmer or immobilizer bypass. A valid code source, lawful ownership verification, the correct physical blank and a calibrated cutting machine remain essential.

What this resource is for#
Use Genericode when a locksmith must identify a key system, decode an authorized code, find equivalent blanks or translate bitting data to a supported machine. It also helps document partial-cut progression and avoid mixing blank families that look similar but use different spacing or depth specifications.Confirmed functions#
- Look up general key information from a known code number
- Search vehicle, motorcycle, utility and padlock data by make, model and code or cuts
- Cross-reference key blanks across multiple manufacturers
- Display depth-and-space specifications and keyway profiles
- Build progression charts when only part of the bitting is known
- Save lookup history for repeat service records
- Provide sidewinder or high-security automotive code references where present
- Send or translate cutting data for supported machine families
Supported vehicles, controllers and files#
- Official Framon documentation lists general, vehicle, motorcycle, utility and padlock programs
- Blank references cover many families including Ilco, Ilco X and EZ, Dominion, Curtis, Jet, Star, ESP, Borkey, Silca, Orion and original numbers
- Cutting information is documented for Framon, HPC, ITL, Ilco, A1, Curtis and Laser Key Products machines, depending on database entry
- The included screen exposes plunge or laser workflows, trace, brush and machine-load controls
- Database presence does not establish ownership or permission to originate a key
Package contents#
- Main Genericode installer
- Companion activation utility retained as supplied and inspected statically
- Original application screenshot documenting the key-data screen
- Two native Windows executables in the clean package
- No cutting machine, USB cable, subscription entitlement, blank stock or transponder equipment is included
System, hardware and interface requirements#
- Windows workstation; the vendor currently documents Windows 10 or newer for contemporary releases
- Adequate storage for the database, job history and backups
- Supported key-cutting machine or a technician able to translate the displayed dimensions manually
- Verified key-code source and customer ownership documentation
- Calibrated cutter, correct jaw and exact blank before producing a key
Recommended workshop workflow#
- Verify customer authority and identify the lock or vehicle precisely
- Search by code, make/model or blank reference and confirm the resulting series
- Compare keyway profile, blank cross-reference, spaces and depths with the physical lock system
- Select the exact cutting-machine method and jaw setup
- Cut a test key conservatively, deburr it and verify mechanical operation without force
- Record the completed lookup without storing unnecessary customer or security data
Compatibility limits and responsible use#
- A matching code string can exist in more than one key family
- Database information must be checked against model year, market and lock supplier
- Mechanical key cutting does not program a transponder or authorize an immobilizer
- Never originate keys without lawful ownership verification
- Activation or database update availability is separate from the included files
Troubleshooting#
- No result: try make/model, blank number and code-series searches rather than guessing a family
- Blank looks wrong: compare profile and cross-reference, not only the stamped number
- Cuts do not align: recheck series, spacing datum, jaw and machine calibration
- Machine link fails: validate the machine-specific driver or export route independently
- Key turns poorly: stop before damaging the lock and verify blank, shoulder/tip datum, depths and deburring
